If you watch it, it’s non-partisan.

If you watch it, it’s non-partisan. What I watched was partisan The republicans having this hearing is a partisan distraction from all the trump scandals And I am far from a Clinton defender

If we could only get to the truth...... For those who care, I recommend that you fast forward through the times when the committee members are speaking. My classmate and I lay out in spades the violations of specific IRS codes that we have learned about and detailed in a Whistleblower Submission from our work over the last 3 years. Non-partisan. You are right. You are not partisan. Turns out you are in it hoping for a big payday. There is nothing wrong with that. Of course, it might have been nice to have known you were working on this for money when you were promoting the Charles Ortel stuff back in the day.

A Washington Post columnist is particularly harsh on Mr. Moynihan. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/the-gop-majoritys-last-words-but-her-emails/2018/12/14/25076412-ffcd-11e8-83c0-b06139e540e5_story.html?utm_term=.6d9be734c0a5I dealt with this House Committee a lot during the mid-1990s. Back then, the Committee was known as the Government Reform and Oversight Committee. In recent years, the title was flipped to the Oversight and Government Reform Committee. The Committee now does a lot of oversight (investigations), and initiates very little reform. Back then, the Republican chair of the subcommittee I most dealt with was Stephen Horn, who, before being elected to Congress, was President of CSU Long Beach, and had a bachelor's and a doctorate from Stanford, and a MPA from Harvard (Kennedy School). One could have a substantive dialogue with him. Times have certainly changed, and not for the better. I will add that in the 102nd and 103rd Congresses (1991-94), the committee chair was John Conyers (D), who was a buffoon even back then.

Link behind the paywall, Phreek, but we can guess the content. I watched the video clip and td128 and his classmate came off well and seemed to have the Congressman's (was he doing this solo, looked like many, practically all, empty seats?) good graces until Moynihan had the temerity to say that they did not report this to this committee right away because they did not have prosecutorial powers. To paraphrase: "Congressman, this is not what you do." "Oh, yeah, I'm a big shot Congressman and I can cause lots of trouble for the Clintons. You just watch. And, by the way, better treat me with a lot more respect than to tell me what I can and cannot do or you'll be in trouble."
Pleased as I was to see our friend td128, if any investigation comments on the current resident at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave are off limits here as "political," as they should be, so should this. Should be one standard,

I have said multiple times that political matters are OK to post - virtually every topic can have some political compoenent - but politics will be deleted.
Despite the politics involved with this hearing, when 2 Holy Cross graduates (at least one of them a poster here) are the focus of the post it's relevant to the board and as long as posters refrain from the politics of the matter and talking AT one another, the thread will remain open.
That's the standard and much like Potter Stewart, I know it when I see it and will act accordingly.
Finally, it seems that at this point the original post has pretty much reached its natural end, but I like that, in true Crossports fashion, this thread has had some veering from the original topic and has included other Holy Cross alums in the news. Will leave the thread open for now for other Crusaders in the news.
Carry on.
