Gordie's name will, surely, be mentioned as a candidate. Do we know that he would want this? I cannot recall if he threw his hat in the ring last time around.
Who are other candidates we should be pursuing?

I hope the next AD does not use HC as a stepping stone like FADNP did. I hope we can find someone who will dedicate his or her career to improving HC Athletics. Probably has to be a former alum for this to be a reality.

Would Burke Magnus be interested? I think he is uniquely qualified for a job like this.

Aside from Gordie, from that same "alumni-camp"....RP Jr?
Not sure he wants it but he'd also be uniquely qualified in many ways as well.

The vacancy announcement has not yet been posted. Depending on the required qualifications, several of the names being tossed about might not qualify.

Probably has to be a former alum for this to be a reality. Circling back to this. While it's not out of the question that HC could attract an alum to be a lifer in the AD spot, if you look at what's happened with AD positions recently in the PL you'll see what the trend is. These positions attract rising administrators who will likely move on to a bigger, better job several years down the road. That's not a bad thing. Army and Navy could be viewed as "destination jobs," while the others by nature are going to attract a more transient pool of candidates. Whomever is the right fit for the position, whether it's an HC alum or not, will largely be based on what the President and BOT signal as the most important tasks they want the next AD to tackle. Now that Luth is done, what is/are the next big ticket item(s) to address? I have no doubt the job is going to attract a strong pool of candidates.

Greg Burke would be ideal if we have a Heisman Trophy candidate next year.

Colgate hired one last year who was the associate AD at UNC-Chapel Hill - and Colgate has a program we would be proud of.

The 990 for the fiscal year ending in 2016 (the most recent one I found online) shows Nate Pine making $283,000 plus benefits. That was an increase of about $40,000 from the year before. I don't know if this type of job has any kind of performance incentives or not.

Worked ok with Perry because he at least had the high school experience. Did not work with Reagan....which is primarily why we looked for and fortunately found a guy like Nate Pine.
Pine got the massive task of creating a modern day AA underway. The next guy must pick up where Pine left off....much more to do to overcome 35 years of ignorance and neglect.

Pick up where Pine left off — does that mean having losing teams across the board? I wouldn’t want that.

Maybe you'd like Dick Reagan to return ?

NP is not coming back, why would you want to saddle the next AD with what you say is his terrible overall record?

First, I wonder what the AD at Colgate is making ?
Second, I wonder what we're paying Chesney and Carmody ?
No AD anywhere should be making more than the head coaches in a school's 2 major sports.

I've posted all their salaries from 2016 990's previously. Not Chesney's because he wasn't there then but Gilmore's and Carmody's.

Pine made more than Ches, and less than Carm.

Millions and millions of dollars literally you know what down the drain for the last 30, 40 years......I'd do the job for 50K and get bettah results than we've had since RP Sr stepped down....so would many others here.
