The Middies are currently 4-8 (coming off a nice win over a favored Colgate team).
Massey (prior to the win over Colgate) had HC as a favorite (67-59) with a 75% chance for the win.

PL scheduling is a mystery. Many factors go into it, but a Saturday game would be more convenient travel-wise for a visiting team playing the other Maryland Team on Thursday. I am sure there are myriad factors that go into scheduling games but Thursday-Sunday is cumbersome whether the team flies home in between or stays over. Perhaps CBC can get the Government opened on Friday while he is down that way. He's got HC at 10-4. What else can he do?

Plus, there is no missed class factor for HC as the school is still on winter break. It's just another dozen or so hotel rooms for another night.

Plus it avoids the usual two trips to this area, at least one of which usually comes during class time

Some of our fans seem to complain about the schedule. The league makes up the schedule with consultation with both teams. Also, every team in the country has to miss some class time so stop complaining and enjoy the season.

Interesting factoid; George Bancroft, Secretary of the Navy under President Polk, was a Worcester native who founded the Naval Academy. Bancroft Tower, Bancroft Hotel and Bancroft School, among others, are all named in his honor, as is Bancroft Hall, a dormitory at the Academy (the largest dormitory in the world housing 4000). He is buried at Rural Cemetery in Worcester.

From the Annapolis site:
Five Starting Notes • Holy Cross and Navy ranked first and second, respectively, for the having played toughest pre-Patriot League schedule. • Holy Cross has won each of its last four games –– with those four wins coming by a total of 21 points –– as well as six of its last seven games. • Navy and Holy Cross have met six times over the last two seasons. The Mids have posted a 4-2 record against the Crusaders over this brief span, which includes the teams splitting league tournament games. • Navy entered the league season with the least amount of career league regular season games played, games started, minutes played and points scored on its roster compared to the remaining nine 2018-19 league teams. • George Kiernan scored 20 points against Colgate to run his streak of consecutive games scoring in double figures to five. Hasan Abdullah reached double figures for the third-straight game and the fourth time in five games with an 18-point effort against the Raiders. Kiernan needs 11 points to reach 700 for his career and Abdullah is eight points away from 700.

Navy is the best offensive rebounding team in the conference. We need to hit the boards hard at the defensive end, just like we did at Loyola.

It's not the number of fouls, it's the validity of the fouls that are sometimes in question. BTW, Teamer, I'll give you waiver on my licensing fees for "Thank you for your service" copyright that many Crossporters know I "invented." It is used exclusively for Navy and Army West Point and AFA if we ever play them again.

The latest pre-game report for Navy:
Does anyone else besides me notice that one Crusader's name is notably missing? I've highlighted the HC player's names that are mentioned. Very nice that the sophomores are getting recognition but wasn't there a senior who is playing outstandingly well? Is Charles Bare "mailing it in?"

I guess for some people 38 blocks, 10 steals, 50 assists and an average of 6.4 rebounds and 9+ points per game and no big thing...when you are defensive player of the year.

I don't know if Charles is mailing it in, but his job may get a little busier this winter if the team keeps winning.
