Togo had his own rules. If Keith, Ed Siudut, etc. was ahead at the agreed upon win total,Togo would say let’s play 5 more points. Some games seemed endless. But once Togo got the lead, he declared victory.

Michael was a special player..He always gave a hard foul on the man he guarded, usually the top offensive forward..I remember him charging into Georgetown's best player about a minute into the game at the Aud. He was on a fast break and put his foot into the chest of the Georgetown player. That guy literally stood at half court and wouldn't go near Michael... I don't think he played in the 2nd half !!!

Some of the best 1 on 1 games I witnessed was Keith Hochstein vs Togo in the field house. When I was at HC the common belief was that Togo had never lost a game of 1 on 1 . Never. Whether that was true or not, I certainly repeated it Togo essentially forced Chris Potter to play him 1 on 1 in the Hart. Chris was leading in the game, when somehow the ball rolled to the other end of the court (the far end, away from the lobby). Togo told Chris to go get the ball, but Chris refused. Togo wouldn’t retrieve it either, so Chris walked out and claimed the W.

Togo told me that Chris’ jersey belongs in the rafters with his own and the rest.

Togo told me that Chris’ jersey belongs in the rafters with his own and the rest. [br He’s not at all alone on that thinking. Something for the new AD to address - sooner rather than later. Any news/rumor/suppositions on the AD search??

Tenacious and other positive points here. While not looking to deflect this thread (already has taken a turn from Jehyve to Austin), I don't think I ever read anywhere who the captain(s) of the team are this year. I do recall Carmody saying something along the lines like "I don't believe in captains, everyone has to be a leader" or words to that effect. With seniors Floyd and Benzan, are they/shouldn't they be the captains? Have I missed something? I guess what I was thinking is with this sophomore class, who would be captain in two years - maybe even next year? Recall that Milan put a sophomore as a captain. No "named" captains that I am aware of, but Floyd and Benzan meet with the officials and opposing captains before tip-off. On a related note, your post made me look. Last year the captains were Charles and Benzan. In a bit of revisionist history, Karl's name has been removed.
