Well, it may be more difficult to cancel than you realize. I tried to cancel several times (had to eventually speak to a human who got it done). Coincidentally, the su scripting was finally cancelled one day into the next cycle, so no refunds were possible. (Or, as they so diplomatically put it, my request was "rejected.") PS: I did it because I was only interested in Holy Cross and they had no more premium games scheduled. After I canceled, they added today's game. If I were paranoid, I could see this as personal.

Does Stadium pay the PL to aquire it's content, or does the PL pay Stadium for distribution of it's programming? I would hope Stadium is paying the PL out of it's ad revenue. I think one goal of the PL in partnering with Stadium is to gain national exposure. Stadium is obviously a long ways off from ESPN, FS1 or even YahooSports.com, but perhaps it was the only entity courting our league.Correct. And fwiw HC would love to get off Stadium, but can't (for games) due to the league-wide deal. HC did move the coaches shows to Facebook Live b/c ancillary events are not handcuffed by the agreement.

ESPN+ also now has many UFC events if you like MMA (many don't, equating it to Christians vs Lions). The UFC has a title fight tonight in Brooklyn, their first since transitioning from FS1 to ESPN. As I understand it the actual title fight will not be available on either cable or pay per view or in any of the UFC bars, but only on ESPN+ for the same $4.99/month. Streaming has become big business. ESPN must see this as a way to monetize cord cutters and compensate for reduced cable subscribers.

No, not if you sign onto GoHolyCross.com, go to the basketball schedule, and then click on PL Video fr he game you want to see. I did this and it still doesn't let you watch for free.

"Video requires subscription." Ad revenue is not sufficient to carry PL games. If there is a PL subsidy in addition then I guess it still does no work out. I assume that Stadium costed out the loss in advertising revenue due to lost viewership against increase in subscription revenue. I will not pay to watch lousy Stadium streaming and their ads. Bye, bye HC sports viewing. It's always free to listen to the dulcet tones of Dick Lutsk right here mm: player.radio.com/listen/station/weei-1044

Couldn't be at the game today due to a family commitment and the same family commitment prevented me from even trying to watch on Stadium but sounds like it might not have worked anyway. I know HC lost per one of my sons but still haven't read what the score was but a loss . . . . . to Loyola at home?! . . . . it looks like the very good OOC schedule results that had many of us - me anyway - to get a little optimistic was not warranted.
As for ESPN+, no crusader1970, I only subscribed because all I used it for, with minimal exceptions, was HC games. I'm too busy to watch other stuff.
As for Stadium, would be shocked if "advertisers" had any significant impact as most of the time it appears to be PL or the canned PR videos of Holy Cross and the PL opponents' or some really rinky dink product you've never heard of and not enticed to buy after watching the commercial.
I'll try it on my computer for the Army game and hope it works . . . . for free.

How many Patriot League “fans” are paying for this service?
It can’t be 100, right?

I haven't had to pay for anything. I'm torturing myself (what else can you call watching men's basketball the last 2-3 weeks?) via computer, not smart phone. Is that where it's asking people to pay?
I click on the link in goholycross.com and go from there.

That’s what I did too. But it was just more convenient to watch via iPad, Apple TV, fire stick, etc.

I tried going to goholycross.com and also to the PL website and got shut out of both First, I got the message that I was in the "blackout area" and to check other regional TV options! Second try resulted in "This is a PREMIUM game", $4.99/mo with a free 7 day trial! OK, credit card entered, game comes on, then the audio goes silent and the video is herky/jerky at times during the first half! Reception got better in the second half but not the game! !

If this is the best that Stadium can offer, if I was in charge at HC, I'd produce it myself. If the PL and Stadium threatened action against me, I would say they aren't holding up their end of the bargain by letting the debacle continue, and risk the reputation and image of the school. We need folks to fight for HC. We've become doormats in so many different aspects.

We need folks to fight for HC. We've become doormats in so many different aspects. The Patriot League works for the schools. If the league is not capable of putting together an acceptable streaming/distribution deal, it's on the schools for allowing it to happen. It's beyond time for a school (or schools) in the league to step in and correct the disaster that is the Stadium deal (and throw out the CBS Sports deal too while they're at it). Just simply chalking it up to a league thing and standing by without taking any action is a joke. It's like blaming Roger Goodell when something goes wrong with the NFL, despite the fact that he's just following the direction of the team owners. If he presents them with an awful product to distribute their games, they will not accept it. Stadium is a sh*t product, and the schools in the league are complicit for allowing the pL to continue using it.

What video broadcast outlet besides two-bit Stadium wants anything to do with PL games?
And every league school produces their own broadcasts which are then pumped out via Stadium, as it's merely the distributor, not the producer.

And every league school produces their own broadcasts which are then pumped out via Stadium, as it's merely the distributor, not the producer. ESPN+. The Patriot League is currently ranked #20 by KenPom. ESPN+ distribution includes the following leagues: -Big South (#22) -Summit (#23) -Atlantic Sun (#24) -Ohio Valley (#25) -America East (#26) -MAAC (#28) There is no conceivable reason why the PL should not be doing whatever it takes (which shouldn't be much) to dump Stadium and get on ESPN+.

Pomeroy ranks have ZERO to do with attractiveness to viewers, and broadcast outlets need viewers to increase to be able to charge profit-making CPM's for pre-roll and digital display ads. The PL doesn't exactly move the needle in this department in the pro-sports heavy northeast.

Pomeroy ranks have ZERO to do with attractiveness to viewers. Exactly right. Just thinking of the alumni aspect of the equation, many of these other conferences have member schools with larger enrollments and alumni bases than the average PL school. That's one factor.

Pomeroy ranks have ZERO to do with attractiveness to viewers This statement contradicts itself. If a team sucks (and is lowly rated by Pomeroy, or anyone else), it's not going to be attractive to viewers. It's silly to assert that the Big Sky, America East, Ohio Valley, etc. offer something that truly sets them apart from the Patriot League. "We'll take a league with Idaho St and Southern Utah, and one with Tennessee Tech and SIU Edwardsville, but we're going to draw the line at Lehigh and Lafayette!!" Dumb.

You have no clue whatsoever how attractiveness to a broadcast outlet works.

You have no clue whatsoever how attractiveness to a broadcast outlet works. I can't imagine that the America East is any more or less attractive to ESPN+ than the Patriot League is. The Stadium deal for the PL sucks, and we'd be far better off on ESPN.
