Truly a legend in HS football coaching circles. Played for Dr Anderson and later coached at HC in the 1960s. Just a tremendous guy in every way possible. Very saddened by his passing but foreveah grateful for having had him as a mentor/friend. RIP Coach. www.heraldnews.com/sports/20190115/carlin-lynch-dies-at-84

As an assistant coach he was highly respected by the whole team. Became a mentor to classmate, Tom Kelly,’67, as an educator

Tom actually named his daughter Carline, who is an educator/coach herself, out of respect to Carlin.
He loved HC and was a mentor to many HC grads who got into teaching/coaching...a true loss for alma mater.

Carlin Lynch was the coach of the Crusader freshman football team, 1966 season. As a football coach he was a taskmaster and truly did "bleed purple".
My sincere condolences to his family.
Pax Domini sic semper vobiscum.

Many years after graduating from HC in 1967, I got Mr. Lynch to come to our parish for a social get together and show the film of our 1966 football victory over BC. He was very cordial and you could tell that he was something special! May he rest in peace! God Bless!

They may be bashful but to my understanding you are correct. There are a bunch of 1970 posters as well. In addition, I know there are a number of "lurkers" (those who don't post things but simply read . . . those are the real bashful folks).

Who's the oldest active guy (can't be a gal given HC had no ladies then) posting?
Sarasota, Class of 1963; perhaps would have been if he were still aboard. Facebook does show him alive and well, in case you didn't know.

moose, I guess you are just now discovering that Crossports is like a corridor bull session that often meanders off topic. Sometimes it is on purpose but oftentimes it accidentally just gets wider and wider afield. I am sure the late Coach Lynch, being from the Class of 1956, would understand. May he R.I.P.
