Colgate-- Colgate has won the last 5 games in the series. Colgate is 9-2 when opponents shoot their threes at worse than a 1 in 3 percentage and Loyola is #10 in PL play in 3 point percentage. Loyola is going to Kostecka more and more (why not?) this year, e.g. last year he took 10 2 point attempts in only 1 game, while this year he's had 10+ 2 pt atts in 14 games. Colgate held him to 9 points and 11 points in the 2 games they played. Lehigh-- Lehigh is winning the games it should win with a 12-0 record versus teams ranked 165 and worse. Boston U is ranked #244. This game features the PL's #1 offense against the #9 defense. Army--This season has been the opposite of last year when Army started strong and then faded badly. Army has moved up from #276 to #226 in PL play so far and has defeated three higher ranked PL teams, including the recent pummeling of Holy Cross. Army is winning on the free throw line and Lafayette has been committing a lot of fouls. Laf takes the fewest free throws in the PL (e.g. 0-0 in first game loss to Army) and its opponents take the most. I see a motivated Army team winning this road game. Holy Cross-- Forget the "it's all about three games in March" mantra, this is a "must win" game if Holy Cross wants to put together a decent season. With all the recent stumbling, mistakes, and misfortune, I still believe HC to be the better team and pick them today. Bucknell-- Bucknell has had its way with American, winning by 9, 20, 29, and 19 points in the last four games in this series. American has not defeated a higher-ranked team since its opening game win over George Mason. Bucknell will likely be better prepared today Bucknell has definitely had its way with AU of late, but our last game with the Bison, just two weeks ago in Lewisburg, was a one-point loss, 55-54.

Fran O is 48 games under .500 in the PL since the 2000-01 season. I think it's time.

My grandson won’t be bringing the ‘Saders any luck Saturday as he lives outside Philly and won’t be in attendance. Neither will I, as I’m ensconced in Florida for a few weeks. But, thanks to modern electronic communication, I was able to procure Luis’s picks for Saturday. We’ll see if he was a beneficiary of beginner’s luck on Wednesday, or if he has a real chance as a future hoops prognosticator. Colgate BU Lafayette Navy Bucknell Um . . .
