Nice "comeback" for the coach after her first HC loss as head coach.

Intersting that BOTH Bucknell hoop teams lost to Holy Cross at the Hart on a last minute 3 point shot! What are the odds of that.

Some sour grapes in aisle 7 of the bison board, due to the rule change involving being able to inbound in the front court in the endgame. Doesn't really explain the first 59 minutes and 59 seconds of the game, but anyway - great job ladies to play to the buzzer!

To be fair, of course, not a LOT of sour grapes.....just a couple.

So, for those who missed it since he hasn't had the opportunity to post it on Crossports yet, here's the relevant portion of 137's post [emphasis mine]: Not sure how this is "at the expense of fairness" because both teams are on an equal footing to take advantage of this rule when the game starts. In that sense, it is fair. It is a rule that all teams know about. In that sense, it is fair. If Bucknell didn't like the rule, they should have made the argument to the NCAA and get a majority of others to agree and kill it before it became a rule. Once it is an established rule, using it is not "unfair." That said, I think Bucknell is still in first place.

...and on a one game "losing streak." The first of several?

Guess the 2 timeouts Bucknell took in the the final minute (44 seconds & 13 seconds) that resulted in their final 4 points weren’t fair either. Therefore they probably should have just stopped the game with a minute left and Holy Cross up by 1 - ipso facto no harm no foul.

As others have said, both teams have use of the rule, so I'm not sure how "fairness" is at issue here. It just so happened that HC had the ball last and utilized the rules to maximize its chance of winning. Bucknell would have done the exact same thing had the roles been reversed.
And, on behalf of now first-place AU, thank you! (Until Wednesday, anyway. :-))

Not to read too much into anything that I have seen over the past few weeks and I know the team can't go into a depression b/c of BG, but is it me or do they not look like they miss him. Coach Mac is really comfortable in the position and the team really looks like they enjoy her style. I can't imagine its easy for BG to sit at home and watch the senior ceremony and not feel this isn't his program anymore.

I can identify with what you are saying. However, what happens next is the key here. After all, this is not the first time she had to step in for BG and the first time she was also successful and embraced by the team. (The fact that she is doing well, and is working successfully with her players, does not mean anything directly about Coach Gibbons, IMHO.

A) the rule change had no effect because Maddy Smith has a beyond half court last second shot in her arsenal, the clock doesn't start until the ball is touched after the inbounds throw, and the amount of time it takes the ball to get to the basket after being launched is irrelevant. She practices that shot on Fridays - just like the Patriots situational football.😋 B) AM has had remarkable success in her two interim stretches (11-1, I believe). All praise to BG for hiring her. She has played Demski more and Pedi less, but the core of the team is the same. Losing is an orphan, but in this case winning has two parents. Thanks to both.

I like the men's rules better. Fair for everyone either way.
And, if the women keep the rule, I think it should be more like 40 feet away from the basket, not the current 28.

Maddy's wining shot made the "Top 3 Plays" of the PL this week. Congrats to her and to the Crusaders.
