Former UNH corner Casey DeAndrade to fill the DBs coach vacancy. Played under DCSJ during his tenure at UNH. Great hire.

Great hire. Casey was an absolute stud in college and I am so glad he will be joining the staff in Worcester.

Let's get some more "Casey's" on the offensive side of the ball. Great pickup!

Well, he must have been really good, a 5 time All American!? How does that happen with 4 years of playing eligibility?
Understanding a redshirt giving him a 5th year, presumably in the injured/off year I wouldn't guess he'd have played enough to be considered good enough to be All-American.
Am I missing something obvious?

He was recognized as an All-America by 5 different organizations as a Sr.

As we continue to quickly win, we will lose assistants to better jobs as long as Chesney is our HC. We will also have no problem attracting rising assistants to join Chesney's staff.
As we've seen and heard, Chesney has rapidly gained a positive rep as an up and coming young coach destined for the national stage. Reminds me of when we hired Rick Carter. It's therefor wise to tie one's can to Chesney with an eye towards career advancement.
Enjoy the ride while we can before Chesney gets an offer he can't refuse.

Interesting that he says "coaching the corners" and not all the DB's. Any idea if Coach Ches breaks his coaches down in this way or if DeAndrade will be coaching the safeties too?

In 2018, the departed Matt Colangelo was the "Safeties Coach" and Anthony Barese (still on staff) was the "Secondary Coach."
So, it looks like there are two assistants assigned to the defensive backfield. It's not clear how the responsibilities will be divided between them, although Coach DeAndrade's tweet may be a clue.

Rumor is DeAndrade will only have corners, Barese has free safeties and DC James will have strong safeties. There are only 2 corners during any given play. At times there are 2 free and one strong safety but mostly 2 strong safeties and one free. So each position coach has 6-8 players and 2 starters.
First practice in 48 hours. They just tweeted the full spring practice schedule.

Given DeAndrade said he would be coaching the "Corners", it's not really a "rumor", it's fact.
