Big difference (the usual suspects): AU 12 of 18 (66.7%) from 3, HC 4 of 15 (26.7%) from 3 - insert "we don't shoot it so well" here Rebounding: AU 9 offensive, 27 defensive for total 36, HC 2 offensive, 15 defensive for 17. American had a 69.6% EFG - the only opponent all year that shot better was, oddly, Sacred Heart in the opener. For the season, HC ranks 301st in EFG defense.
As of this morning, Holy Cross is last (353rd) in D1 in total rebounding percentage - also finished last in 2016-17. Average ranking in the last four years - 342nd.

I have a dream that the end-of-season strategic change that will lead us to the promised land will be sending all 5 guys to the glass on every offensive possession. If nothing else, it would totally freak out Lafayette.

And would it have been too much trouble for the Athletic Department to send out an email advising folks that parking would be at a premium. Students are gone - plenty of parking near the Hart Center, yes? Wrong- no problem having to walk up the hill from Linden Lane but a little notice please. And how about folks in the lot telling us. It just seems that the whole operation is run like a division 3 hobby rather than a high end Division 1 program Kind of sick of such little attention to details and the poor game day experience

Try buying a hot dog and see how that goes.

Rumor has it DiMarz scoffed the last 2 hot dog rolls at the beginning of halftime.......hot dog on a plate, anyone? At least they could have had some baked beans.
I am lucky I got there as early as I did to allow time to walk...otherwise I would have missed the senior day presentations. And speaking of that - is there any good reason why it should not be held on the last Saturday the students, are on campus, even if it conflicts with Winter Homecoming? Felt bad for the seniors.

Poor game day atmosphere, not having a “fan first” approach (see: DCU debacle), and a poor product on the floor — there’s no wonder we are hovering around 1,000 fans a game and I have not been inclined to make the drive to Worcester in two years.
But I’m sure the RSIG team ensured every attendee sat in their ticketed seat.

Must have been one hell of a conference for all of the spaces that students normally use to be taken up. How about the new parking lot just below the Luth? I take it that isn't open. I cut thru campus the other day and noticed the lighting is in place. Seems like it could accommodate parking. I think you are onto something with the D3 comment. The videos, banners, we are Worcester's team billboard, the fancy looking team buses. It's all fluff. When it comes to winning and putting fannies in seats, we fall far short. As others and I have said in the past, athletics at HC have become a participatory thing.

Agree about the poor planning regarding the parking situation! If you have a scheduled conference beginning at 10:00am to mid afternoon with approximately 800 (that's the figure I heard) attending, wouldn't it make sense to move the basketball game to say 6:00pm? It's not rocket science but rather something called common sense! Also, the concession stand is another source of discontent! Why is it that the college and TPTB do things that just serve to irritate fans and drive them away! Bad experiences certainly do not encourage fans to come back!

You know things are really bad when Dave is critical. Kudos to you Dave for being such a great fan of HC hoops during some tough times. HC should have a fan appreciation day and give you some type of recognition.

I tried to buy a shirt at the pop-up shop around Christmas time, I was in a hurry, game about to start. Cash only the guy says, or I have to take the credit card info by hand. Can't use the computer, it's locked out. Me: Huh? Yeah, he says, and the only guy who can unlock it is on vacation in Kentucky!

Here's the link to the conference that took place at HC yesterday! www.maccweb.org/events/EventDetails.aspx?id=1179662This conference was something that was booked a long time ago! Knowing this, they should have moved the basketball game to a later time! Have some consideration for the dedicated fans! Is that asking too much???

You would things like this wouldn't be happening with an athletic department staff approaching triple digits. I know it was a different time but I remember the days too long ago, when the athletic department staff of about five figured out how to get 4,000 people and their vehicles, in and out of campus for every hoop game. I believe the ushers were volunteers and I don't recall complaints about the concessions. There were no billboards, the NIT and NCAA banners were 4' by 6', etc. but the teams won a lot and truly was Worcester's team.

I assume whomever is responsible for parking coordination (public safety?j were counting on Spring Break to vacate student Parking, but as HC16 pointed out to me as we were hunting for a spot at 11:45, with immersion trips, flights to warmer climates, retreats, etc. many (most) students leave their cars on campus.
Also imagine communication between Campus Center conference services, athletics and whomever coordinates parking was, to be polite, sub-optimal.
Also hope each of you are dropping a note on your fan experience to Brendan Sullivan because while it might be seen here, if you send a note it has a much higher likelihood of being acted upon. Mine on the DCU seating selection (still waiting on my apology email) concession changes (they had 2 months to work things out) and the parking yesterday is going out today.

Being an Environmental Conference, they projected attendees would all ride their bikes, eliminating any parking crunch.

Remember getting into a PC game 15 minutes after it had started and I got to campus on time

Every picture tells a story, don't it . . .
Looks like NAD and a few close friends. I assume this was taken 10-15 minutes before the tip but still.... I doubt the 1,000 plus attendance figure is valid. Obviously 1000+ is paid attendance and we saw plenty of postings here about people not showing up because of the weather. I'm guessing the number is close to valid. Also the ceremony was fairly early and the crowd that did come was a late arriving crowd because of the parking debacle.

Arrived in the gym late due to parking and missed the senior day presentations, but said to NAD at tip as I looked at the stands on the side of the Hart with team benches, that I thought about 300 were on that side (basically 100 per section). Figured it was about the same on the our side - the side in the background in the photo. That gets you to around 600. Filled in a bit more after tip, so maybe 750 or so fannies in the seats.

As one of the "750 or so," that seems about right. Official average home attendance for the year was under 1,300 - couldn't find any pre-Willard figures, but that's the lowest in at least twenty years.

RE: HC92 and the potential PLT surprise-- the last time Carmody rolled out a 1-3-1 it took our opponents by surprise, because it's a rarely-used ploy and the gimmick was half surprise and half effective.
If Carmody has his team move to M2M defense as the "surprise" in the PLT, they'll be using the defense that 90% of the rest of the country effectively deploys... so it may surprise some opposing coaches that we actually changed, well, ANYTHING... but it's not unfamiliar to a D1 collegiate offense.

I've read this lots of times, and it always surprises me. When Bucknell played HC at the Hart three weeks before the PLT, HC played a lot of 1-3-1.
