Maybe "Dad" will encourage a faster pace again tomorrow night.

From the Easton Morning Call newspaper:
“He’s just such a hard guard for us,” Lafayette coach Fran O'Hanlon said of Floyd. “He’s a senior. He’s quick driving the ball. He was passing the ball, blocking shots. We didn’t really have an answer for him. We were trying lots of different things but he came out like a man possessed.”

I think we'd all agree JF has been a team first player all along.....but he wouldn't be human if not getting first team PL didn't bug him at least a wee bit. He sure looked like a man possessed to me.
One of my favorite plays last night was yet another one that doesn't show up in the stats: that drive from the right wing by a Leopard (Jaworski?) where he floated it WAY up to get it over the long arm of the law....had no chance of going down.

If you dig further it appears that some players had some of their better games with these faster tempos Caleb Green scored 17, 16, 25,14,17 points--17.8 PPG versus 9.6 PPG in his other games. This cannot be explained by just the fact that there were more possessions/scoring opportunities CG had O-Ratings of 137, 112, 122, 95, & 116 versus his season total (which includes those five games) of 101. CG had 23 free throw attempts (made 18) in those 5 games= 4.6 attempts per game. In remaining 27 games he was 33-41, 1.5 free throw attempts per game. Did the faster pace give him more room to show his quickness or provide more breakaways thus enabling him to draw more fouls? Of course-different opponents than in the 27 games Jehyve Floyd scored 14, 20, 22, 19, 24---19.8 PPG versus 11.6 PPG in his other games JF had O-ratings of 143,148,132,120,128---versus his season total (which includes those five games) of 118. It's almost as if maybe, just maybe the stubborn gameplan that Carmody rolled out game after game didn't actually put the players in the best position to succeed..... (You put that one up on a tee, KY) Did we lose again? Can't help myself. Sorry....not sorry. Cheers.
