Control problems for the Bison pitchers as they walked 9 Crusaders. Evan Blum: 4-3-3-1, Andrew Selima 3-1-2-4, and Alex Gionis 4-0-2-4were the batting stars

HC sweeps the double header, taking the second game 6-3. (Interesting to see the "live stats" saying that HC was batting in the 10th. )

Nice to see our senior starters McGowan and Cronin with the wins. Now we have our no.1 Dvorak ready for tmro. Because of rain coming the game starts at 9:30 - the game will be available on the PLN

Four game winning streak on the road, one game out of second place, PLT berth looking secure even with six games left against the military, and permafrost will finally be gone from H.I.P. at Fitton Field when the lads return home. What's not to like?

Dvorak is getting it done again - 1-0 HC after 6 innings - he’s up to about 100 pitches and not sure Lopes is available today after going 3 innings yesterday

2-2 after 7 - relief pitching let us down. Coach brought in Lopes after Johnson struggled - Lopes made one pitch and felt something in his throwing shoulder and was removed - let’s hope he’s ok

It worked Kale doubles in two 4-2 An alternative POV: It appears to have worked. The players sacrificing might well have gotten hits and started a huge inning

I don't know if this Holy Cross lineup should play small ball, but it is advantage that they can. Critics complain even some major leaguers can't today. Coach DiCenzo, with a .566 PL record coming into this season must be teaching fundamentals well.

Tough to have a mid week league game when pitching staffs are depleted from the weekend. Will Saturday’s pitchers be available on 3 days rest ? And if so, what does that do to their availability for next weekend, esp the Saturday double dip ? That’s what head coaches get the big bucks for.

I would guess our top 3 starters would be available out of the pen for an inning or two at most on Wednesday.

Dvorak threw 107 pitches today. I don’t know about throwing him on 2 day’s rest. Maybe yesterday’s starters could give us 1 or 2. Cronin threw 106, McGowan 91. Tough opponent.. We are tied with Army for second.

The problem with pitching McGowan or Cronin is they'll have to pitch again next Saturday.

Army is somewhat tougher than Lafayette. We may take some chances here we would not otherwise take. If McGowan pitches Wednesday in relief, maybe we can committee the first game on Sat. I agree we should not use up Cronin’s pitches. We probably need him to go deep in the second(9 inning) game Sat.

Will Wednesday be a 7 or 9 inning game? That may influence decisions as well.
And fortunately Army's 3 primary starter pitched this weekend as well, with Navy coming up next weekend, so they have the same decisions to make.

Lots of baseball yet to play but Navy in the driver’s seat for the 1 seed. HC, Army and Laf tightly bunched in the 2-4 spots. We have 4 left with Army, 5 with Laf and 2 with Lehigh so lots of head-to-head among the teams closest to us.

I'd bet that the coach uses a 'committee' staff on Wednesday. Lafayette has been the surprise of the league this season and we will need to win that series at home with our 3 'rested' starters. We have 4 games at home vs. Army the last weekend in April when we might need to take 3 of 4 for the season series - I think the coach has to think about tiebreakers (that's why they play 5 game series now). we have played 13 league games with 12 remaining, 7 of which are at home. Our 'north' record (which I think is significant) is now 12-10, after our 1-14 'south' start.

CHC, the only 7 inning games are the openers of dh's - We're not going down to West Point to play 7 innings.
