It's the 2019 Tostitos North Southwest Regional Progresso Soup Bowl! Brought to you by GEICO, sponsored by MasterCard. Today's match up features the 6th place team from the SWAC versus the 5th place finisher from the Big Sky conference.

IMO, an all around better venue for a bowl game than the new Yankee Stadium.

Boston bowl should have good weather to attract loads of fans from cold weather sights O wait, the ACC is mostly in the south. Or is this the BC BOWL ? All they have to do is win 3 or 4 games. Will this game be a doubleheader with the college hockey game at Fenway ? Could this be both games for BC ?

I think that the 4th or 5th place team in the ACC won’t have too many fans going to boston in late Dec.

Very few of the bowls draw much anymore....all about TV programming, corporate sponsorship and the dirty little, not so secret way of allowing these programs more practice time.

I think that the 4th or 5th place team in the ACC won’t have too many fans going to boston in late Dec. ACC has 2 divisions hoops....remains to be learned how this bowl will be slotted in the pecking order agreements.
Had this been last season, I'm guessing that either Wake or VT from the ACC versus either South Florida or Tulane from the AAC would have been likely. Boston knows it's gonna have to offer some very attractive package entertainment deals to draw fans from afar.
I presume the pay-outs for each team will be + - $300,000.

What's wrong with more practice time ?

Just saying it's one of the main reasons why we have seen the explosion of the # of bowl games in the last 20 or so years...the majority of programs in FBS now go to a bowl game.

All this being said, I think HC would be better off playing in a FCS bowl of some sort...makes more sense (to me) than a multiple week playoff system.

More due to desire of a city's Chamber of Commerse and local charities - often a childrens hospital - in need of $$$ that comes with sponsor and TV revenue in these bowl games. In this Boston venture, beyond good-will, the Sox probably get a slice too.

Probably? The Red Sox don't miss a trick. I always wondered why American Standard and Crane didn't sponsor bowls.

There are maybe 15 K decent football seats in Fenway, no way The House That Derek Jeter built has less than that. With a playing surface that is in no way winterized this contest is a joke.

A bowl game in the middle of December in Boston against a mid-level ACC team and team from the American who nobody in Boston will care about save for maybe Navy. No thank you.
I assume this bowl is just banking that BC has the kind of season that would make them eligible for this bowl.

How stupid ideas like this somehow come to fruition sometimes amazes me. You would have to pay me some serious money to attend a game of this nature, in the northeast, in Winter. In the meantime, a host of good ideas remain in the hopper.

How much of a share does a charity get from these bowls? What does the pinstripe bowl pay in charitable contributions. I've never heard of this.

And BC is lucky to fill Alumni Stadium when they host Clemson on a nice sat afternoon/friday night. Playing anyone other than Notre Dame @ Fenway will lead to a lot of empty seats.

The Ted Williams Nissen Bread Bowl. I am loving it. How about the Big Yaz Bread Bowl. No problem with another bowl game. More football the better in my opinion.

In 2015 they say over $250,000 was raised....hopefully growing annually since.
Have not yet heard what charities will be helped by this new Fenway bowl.
