I just played at Blackstone in the Sutton Lions Club Tourney..Blackstone does a very nice job with the tourneys. Great course, real good food! I'll be in Las Vegas that week or I'd be playing there again!

For the safety of all, I won't be attending. Golf is a contact sport for me.

If anyone needs a 27.4 handicapper in their foursome, let me know.

I played last year and it was a good time. The assistant coaches were very evident all day. I don't recall seeing Coach Carmody until the dinner, but in addition to a brief spiel he was chatting with anyone who approached him.
No current players were there, but a decent number of past players were in attendance. This new group is actively trying to get former players re-connected with the program. If nothing else, it's worth the price of the dinner to hear Togo hold court with the stragglers after dinner

Coach Carmody also greeted golfers at the 18th green. Kennedy and Owens were somewhere else on the course, don't remember where

Coach Carmody greeted our group as we left the 9th green and Coaches Kennedy and Owens greeted us as we teed off on the par 3 11th hole.
It was a fun time and well worth staying after with Togo holding court! He had many stories to tell which gave us great insight and perspective regarding Holy Cross basketball!
The announcement of this event also brought to mind the attorney who lost his wallet during this event last year and got me wondering if and hoping that it was eventually found and returned to him.
Hoping for another great event and good weather! (Just got it in last year before the rains came).

He did get the wallet back, bumped into him as I was leaving the parking lot

Very happy to hear that he got the wallet back! I know that there were a number of people out there looking for it.
Also, in today's Telegram, Jen Toland writes about the new football turf and also mentions that Togo is on the road to recovery after suffering a fall earlier this summer. She also mentions that Togo is back to doing what he loves best, working with up and coming basketball players.
Best wishes to Togo!

Nice time yesterday at the golf tourney! All the coaches, most of the players were there, along with the PL trophy. Nice speeches by ADNP and CWC. The Hart scheduled to open by 10-1; in the meantime, the limited practices are at local colleges. As far as golf tourneys go, it was a first class event!

At least you didn't get saddled with a stiff for a playing partner this year I had to skip this year due to a prior appointment with a Mr Springsteen

I also spent Wednesday night with Mr. Springsteen. Our wonderful kids gave us tickets as Mother's Day and Father's Day presents. We arrived early, had a nice dinner in Patriot's Place, were able to get out quickly and were home by 1:30.
Of course, I had to go home from work early yesterday and take a nap because I can't handle staying up that late. I hope the Red Sox World Series games next month don't go to midnight every night.

I didn't intend to hijack the thread - just to explain my absence (which based on last year's performance made Sader81 very happy) Anyone else out there have anything interesting from the tourney? I'd be happy to discuss all things Springsteen in another thread in the General Discussion forum. Amazingly not all HC hoops fans care about Bruce so maybe we should let this thread get back on topic so as not to scare off the non-music lovers (yes HC16 this means you)

I think Nate Pine was surprised that he lost the longest drive to Dan Burpee

Tom- So if somebody doesn't like Bruce, the somebody is a "non music lover?" Ever hear of Beethoven? I played in the band for 4 years and double majored in music. I took it as a sarcastic, good-natured jibe at that, not any personal opinions about musical taste.

Tom- So if somebody doesn't like Bruce, the somebody is a "non music lover?" Ever hear of Beethoven? Beethoven wasn't so great. He never got his picture on bubblegum cards, did he? Have you ever seen his picture on a bubblegum card? Hmmm? How can you say someone is great who's never had his picture on bubblegum cards?
