Kind of a meh home slate for the Midshipmen, no?
Still find it hard to believe that this will be the 1st meeting on the gridiron between these two fine institutions.

The time of the game is listed as TBA. Is that for TV scheduling or just S.O.P. for three months out?

If Navy had a better spot to go, they’d leave the AAC in a heartbeat. Navy has played very well in the AAC since they joined. Definitely a major step-up in strength of schedule compared to independence. It is going to be a challenge for them to compete for titles year-in and year-out in that league. Navy was 3-10 last year and really didn't have that bad of a team.
The only logical place for them to go would be to go back to playing as an indy.

I know but if you talk with folks at Navy, there's not great enthusiasm for the league as presently configured. But they don't have a better spot, at this point, to go, which I noted.

Army plays as an independent, and generally plays one or two FCS opponents, one lower level Power 5, one big time Power 5, six Group of 5 opponents, and the other two service academies. Navy has zero flexibility in its schedule with the eight conference games, the two academies, Notre Dame, and an FCS opponent annually. Their brand is strong enough that they can bail out of that mismash league and go back to playing a few of their traditional rivals (MD, UVA, BC) while also scheduling some lower level FBS teams (UMass, UConn, Old Dominion, etc) to help achieve bowl eligibility.

I just cannot believe that there are still tickets available.

Navy does draw pretty well but the AAC is a very blah mix of schools literally all ovah the country. Good football in general just sort of blah as a draw imo.
Not sure what they're reasoning is behind this...seems like they would be better off like Army playing as an Indy.

I don't see where Army's schedule is more attractive than Navy's save for they get a few easier W's. Typically one really good Power 5 team a year (and Navy is playing ND just about every year to counter that), AF & Navy; then a bunch of FCS games combined with BCS vs conferences worse than the AAC.

Let's not be too concerned about Navy and its schedule and quality of their opponents, let's just win when we play them. If we do, despite who else they play, it'll be a big upset and start the year well.

Let's not be too concerned about Navy and its schedule and quality of their opponents, let's just win when we play them. Sounds easy enough.

Don't recall posting this before (or maybe told some posters in person) that one of the offensive lineman I know assured me that Navy is not/will not be like the BC game and results. Didn't give me a Joe Namath-type "guarantee win" but sure implied it will be either a win or more like the close UConn loss than the BC results. We didn't talk Syracuse but pretty sure I posted my conversation with Coach Chesney that Syracuse will likely be a top 10 team which I interpreted as we can expect a BC result or worse. Couldn't be a lot worse (except for the blocked punt TDs we got which made my day). My plans are to be at the game in person. Hope many posters can make it as I suspect Navy won't be on our schedule again any time soon - especially not if we beat them!

If it is a close loss like to UConn in 2017, we will surely beat UNH. The precedent has been established.

Please let’s relax a bit gentlemen the heat must be getting to some of you. Last year against one of the worse UNH teams in recent memory the Cats shut out the Cross. You have one win since the series has returned. Now I love the optimism for your program but come on. You’re not beating Navy or Syracuse let’s not start living in the past. I hope you guys have a good season but it’s not the 1960s that the older fans on here desperately hang on to wishing for the “glory “ days and what could have been. Good luck but let’s slow down a bit.

Everyone needs to temper their thoughts including you, UNH. Yes, HC lost to a "bad" UNH team last year 28-0 at your place. You seem to forget that the year before the Crusaders beat then ranked #9 Wildcats ("good" team?) 51-26 at Fitton. We are playing at Fitton this season. Feel free to look past the Crusaders regardless of the Navy results. By the way, the Navy game will be on CBS Sports Network according to the schedule.

Some of the older alums living in the past make me laugh. 2019 let’s see what happens. Enjoy your team and be proud of them. Support them! Don’t keep on dwelling on what could have been! Time to move on! You have a great challenge in UNH coming to Worcester! Will you rise?

HC is getting much better very quickly right here in 2019. Not sure who is living in the past. You seem much more fixated on it than most of the HC fans here.

Have you read this board? Oh my we could have been in the Big East! We were big time in the 50s! The stadium used to be packed! When RW was coach no one would play us. Cousy! The people use to come out. BC we use to compete with. Etc. come on me living in the past? 🤥 V
