It's awfully early but Street and Smith's 2019 rankings are in:
1. COLGATE; 2. HOLY CROSS; 3. GEORGETOWN; 4. FORDHAM; 5. LAFAYETTE; 6. LEHIGH; 7. BUCKNELL

I can remember watching for the Street and Smith's College Football preview edition each year (from about the time I turned 12). Then I would study it like a school text...actually better than most school textbooks, in my case.

Rich.h will not be happy. The raters must diminish the role of QB. if Gtown does finish third, that will be quite an accomplishment considering they have no schollies. esp when added to their tie for second last year- with HC.

S and S really going out on a limb by just reproducing the standings following the 2018 season.

We have to get back to beating ‘gate consistently.

I would be pleasantly surprised if HC finishes 2nd with Spread 'Em & Shred 'Em at the helm of a dire QB situation.

No football scholarships at Georgetown, but as the Varsity Blues Scandal shows, Georgetown has an almost Ivy League appeal, so they might be able to do more without schollies than colleges that are considered less of a prize to attend and graduate from.

The Series record is Holy Cross 40, Colgate 35 with 5 ties. So we had to beat them consistently at some point because we've been getting beaten consistently recently. Years ago Colgate was a fairly regular "W" along with teams like Northeastern and UConn.

We did beat Colgate 14 games in a row from 1983-1996....

Massey lists the teams in almost the same order: 1. Colgate (1.32) 2. Holy Cross (0.82) 3. Georgetown (0.57) 4. Lehigh (0.52) - perhaps because of their new head coach. 5. Fordham (0.46) 6. Lafayette (0.45) 7. Bucknell (0.37)
He has HC at 6-6 (and 5-1 in the Patriot League)
He also has Navy as a 25 point favorite in our season opener (13-38), but he does say that HC has a chance for the upset (6% to be precise).

Outside of Colgate being at or near the top, the PL has to be one of the more difficult leagues to prognosticate in the country lately.
GTown was the surprise team last year, picked by most to finish in the celar....Lehigh probably the most disappointing, after receiving some 1st place preseason votes, finishing near the bottom.
Not sure what teams will fill, or are capable of filling those roles this season, but I'm sure there will be some interesting developments along the way.

Thanks. For some reason, Yale is not listed on the HC schedule by Massey. Adding that game in (with Yale a 24-35 favorite), it would be 6-6 - still 5-1 in the PL.

Oops, we do have six 00C games. Maybe Mr. Massey thinks Brown is in the PL and has us splitting with Yale and Harvard. Which of the Ancient Eight would most people be unable to name? Brown has to be a contender for that crown.

Massey picks HC as 1-2 against the Ivies: HC over Brown (28-22) Harvard over HC (31-21) Yale over HC (35-24)

Next year's schedule is easily the most difficult since at least 1986....we have to have one of, if not the most strongest ooc schedules at the FCS-level in the country.

This schedule adds excitement to the season and if the ball bounces the wrong way against the OOC teams, Coach Chesney's enthusiasm will keep the team motivated to fight for the PL crown and post season play.i

Brown has to be a contender for that crown. I'll go with the Bears as well with Cornell as a close second. Ed Marinaro keeps them from claiming the top spot.
