They are playing at Providence in early October and I believe the USNTDP team is going to play at Holy Cross which is great since they have the best prospects for the 2020 draft

There is some method to that madness...college hockey over the course of the season has far less weeknight games than college basketball, which stretches out the season. That should be a plus for an academically-oriented school.

AZ St. played two at the Hart 2 yrs ago when program was in it's infancy.
One visit to their beautiful & warm campus is all any recruit from the snow-belt needs to be sold. That's how they got good real fast.

Bryant, Umass Lowell, Central Connecticut, Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart would comprise a list of New England schools to Merrimack that moved up from Division 2.
I really can't agree that HC is athletically inferior overall to this group; Quinnipiac hockey excluded (and we all know how HC screwed the pooch on that one). Therefore, I can't say I'm worried about Merrimack's new venture; again, hockey excluded.
And Merrimack is not joining the A10 or something like that, they're joining the NEC.

Agree. It just cuts a little deeper when we lose to one of these half dozen schools.

Here are four of those schools that have teams that are ahead of HC athletically QU Women's Hoops...they have a sweet 16 appearance in 2017 and won a game in 2018 tourney. CCSU has six NCAA baseball appearances since 2002 and two in the last three seasons. Bryant Men's Lax has four NCAA appearances including an NCAA quarterfinal in 2014. Merrimack Men's Lacrosse is back to back D-2 National Champions...the difference between low level D-1 and D-2 really isn't there as seen with Bryant's rise so quickly.

Very informative. ADMB's kids got a trip to Disney world but he gets no honeymoon on his new job. There is work to be done.

Season ticket announcement on the goHC site today - includes the following regarding home games:
The Crusaders are set to play 18 regular-season home games in 2019-20. Non-conference matchups include national powerhouses Quinnipiac (Jan. 17) and Arizona State (Feb. 7), who both finished last season ranked top-20, as well a Hockey East opponent Merrimack (Oct. 17) and ECAC foe St. Lawrence (Oct. 25).

Here are a couple of HC hockey dates What is NTDP ? USA National Developmental Team. This past yearβs team had eight guys go in the first round of the draft. Coach Berardβs kid was on the u-17 team this past year and expected to be on the U-18 team that is visiting PC (where he is committed) and Holy Cross. The U-17 and U-18 teams live in Ann Arbor and go to school and play hockey. It is usually the best of the best on those squads as Jake Eichel, Austin Matthews, Charlie McAvoy and more have come through that squad.

The East German Olympic Team had a similar arrangement π. Only kidding, this sounds like a great opportunity and there are pros and cons to every approach.

The U-18 squad barnstorms against NCAA squads, some USHL games, and I think a couple of college club teams before they enter the U-18 world championships which they dominate since the program started. U-17 squad plays a majority of their games against the USHL and of course a few international tourneys!

Our women open the regular season on Sat Sep 21st at Colgate. I don't understand why our men never play Colgate since we have the PL relationship (and women's college hockey starts ridiculously early !)
