If it wasn't labor day weekend I would be there. Summer weekends are just too precious to give up living here in MA.

Bought my tickets for the game (section 32) and the tailgate earlier this week. Google Maps says its a manageable 3 hour drive from Princeton. Been to West Point many times, but this is my first visit to the Naval Academy. Go Cross!

Been to West Point and Annapolis, the former too many times to count, the latter twice. Biggest difference is the terrain is much flatter for the Navy. Both on water. The mast of the Maine at Annapolis as I recall. Both places are very impressive and the students a credit to our country. Annapolis is a nice little, historic town (city?) and I am sure all who attend will have a great time . . . . . and maybe even a Crusader win? Heck, we've beaten West Point and beaten the Air Force academy. Time to beat Annapolis.

I plan to come with an Army Colonel buddy of mine who lives in Annapolis. I’ll check out the tailgate.

You better buy the tickets. They are $25 for Holy Cross fans and $75 for Army Officers.😉

We moved to Annapolis last July to be closer to the grandchildren. For those who have never been here, the Navy football stadium is not on the campus of the Academy. Instead, it's in the middle of an ordinary residential neighborhood, and is surrounded by large parking lots. Downtown Annapolis has a lot to offer, but it has narrow, one-way streets. On-street parking is a lost cause, but there are several parking garages.

Just in case I wind up going ... Got an extra parking spot at your condo or in your driveway??? And will the guest room be available??

Instead, it's in the middle of an ordinary residential neighborhood, and is surrounded by large parking lots. That's too bad. Part of the fun of going to games at West Point, apart from some great play from Wiley and Lockbaum, was being on campus, seeing the corps of cadets parade, etc. I was on the fence leaning "no". Off campus stadium takes some of the luster of this game away for me

The same parking area is used for basketball and is the only car option, and a short shuttle bus ride goes to the arena on campus. Would guess they may use the shuttle for football also to get to campus

Don't the midshipmen march from campus to the staidum? Thought I read that somewhere. Have seen the stadium; from what I could see, looks like a great place to watch a game. Annapolis another of those cool east coast seaports. I just hope it's not a sauna on that weekend, for those going.

I was at Annapolis for a game back in 2005. Even though the stadium is several blocks from the academy, the game day atmosphere was outstanding. Lots of entertainment prior to the game. Fun part was running into a HC classmate whose son was playing in the game.
The next morning we toured the academy and attended a chapel service. If you are a history buff, make sure you see John Paul Jones’ crypt.
We have been back since then to tour the state capital, the statue of Alex Haley and St.John’s College. Lots of fun restaurants and shops. Seaport towns seem to have interesting things see and participate. Hope this is the first of several visits by the football team to Annapolis.

I just hope it's not a sauna on that weekend, for those going. Or a hurricane.

It’s followed by a flyover (usually F-18s) and sometimes combined with single parachute drop.

And in nice weather it’s an easy walk across the bridge from stadium to center of town.

While on campus take a look at Bancroft Hall, the largest dormitory in the world (4000) and named after Worcester native George Bancroft who created Annapolis while Secretary of the Navy under Polk.

Really looking forward to making the short trip from D.C. to Annapolis for the game! I made the trek for the HC-Navy basketball game in the winter (terrible loss, but good HC crowd) and made a trip down for a Navy football game a few years back (the pageantry is as advertised) - a few suggestions if I may: -I highly recommend taking in the free Naval Academy Museum (open 9am-5pm on Saturdays) on campus (https://www.usna.edu/Museum/Visitors.php). Among many of the museum's collections include the "Don't give up the ship" flag and an entire 2nd floor devoted to ship models dating back to the 18th century. Nearby are the Herndon monument, the chapel/John Paul Jones crypt, and Bancroft Hall. Just make sure to have a picture ID to get on campus. -A short walk will take you to the Maryland State House (also free and open from 9-5 on Saturdays; msa.maryland.gov/msa/mdstatehouse/html/visitor.html), the oldest state house in continuous legislative use in the country and site of Washington's resignation as Commander-in-Chief. The State House is at the crest of the hill of the main street leading to the waterfront. -If you can get up early enough, I recommend Chick and Ruth's on the main drag for breakfast. They have a neat tradition where the entire restaurant will say the Pledge of Allegiance at 9:30am on weekends. Also a great spot to get hydrated before the tailgate: beer and wine is $2.99 all day (http://www.chickandruths.com/). Beat Navy!

I echo the recommendation for the museum and certainly for Chris and Ruth's. I did not make it to the State House.

I'll be making the trip down from NYC for the weekend.
I was born and raised in Annapolis and can't begin to count how many games I've watched in that Stadium.... This should be a lot of fun.
Feel free to message me for rec's, etc..
