I jut don't think that TPTB are as sick of losing as those on Crossports. That is among my disappointments with Fr. B. I bought into his initial speeches that he wanted to win on the courts, field, ice (unlike his predecessor who really didn't seem to care) as a way of getting the Holy Cross brand more widely disseminated. I just think he's become more comfortable with the lack of athletic excellence because our athletes do so well in the classroom.
Who the College picks as the next basketball coach (men and eventually permanent women) will tell us "everything we need to know."

Okay-- Next is Landry Kosmalski at Swarthmore. As has been noted in previous posts about him, he has led an extraordinary turnaround at the school. Five years before Coach Kosmalski Swarthmore= 25-99 = .202 truly a disaster as a basketball program Swarthmore under Coach Kosmalski 1st 3 years= 26-49= .347 strong improvement, but still a really weak program. Perhaps comparable to Columbia football going from 2-9 to 4-7 Last 4 years= 99-20= .832 this is a new program, dominating the conference Wow. Before Kosmalski Swarthmore was little more than alumnus Michael Dukakis'55 in his tank.😝

I wasn't a scholarship athlete or even an athlete (save for a 30 second career on the soccer team); but I thought Fr. Brooks went out of his way to take shots at the academic performance of the athletes when he help found the Patriot League. His attitude at the time, and now, in retrospect, made/makes no sense to me.
