Did Peter Oliver hurt the psyche of the team? Nope Jeff Oliver isn't a football coach. But anyways, I am pumped for the start of the season and I am proud of what the coaching staff has done in the recruiting dept (specifically QB's). Excited for 2019.

I can tell you that it will build a level of resentment for other players in the position group if he plays (even if it's justified). It's a weird dynamic that puts a lot of pressure on both sides. This is not Little League. If anything I think it's harder playing for your dad at this level.

Geez, guys, I just hope the kid can play. He's got the size but I am not sure the talent. He comes out of no where. He may be Dick Butkus or Sam Huff for all we know. Or, conversely, he's coming to HC simply because he's the coach's son. If he is the former, I'm perfectly fine if the latter too. Here's some info. He also played baseball. Looks like he played 3 games his junior year due to injury: www.maxpreps.com/athlete/brian-vaganek/jWAtWnI4Eea-8KA2nzwbTA/videos.htm

Added to first post in this thread. Breezy - first, many thanks for all the work you do on this - hate to ask for anything else, but it would be great to also have the offer # on the commitments list so we can easily cross reference and get more info on each kid.

Rivers also had offers from Brown, Georgetown, Bryant and UNH.

Here is a tip regarding reviewing HC recruiting: When I see the player as committed, I put the name in the search field in crossports to find relevant information in this thread about them. From there I review their twitter account regarding their current offers and other data. Twitter and spider threads provide additional insight.

Joe Rivers is officially #4 Rivers did not make the Boston Herald All-Scholastic team, and he was one of nine players from Bishop Fenwick to get 'atta-boy' honorable mentions from the Globe. He was not the main RB on the team. David Cifuentes was the featured back, and he scored 146 points and was named MVP of the Catholic Central League. Rivers is apparently a good lacrosse player. ____________________________ Only a honorable mention in the local newspaper's football all-stars. www.salemnews.com/sports/salem-news-football-all-stars/article_dcf150ba-0dca-530e-9654-aa6df5d0ff5a.html

Trying to figure out why that matters when HC was one of 5 offers - partial or full I really don’t care. From a staff that signed a top 20 class in year 1 and is off to a good start this year based on their 5 verbals.
Not real sure what you’re getting at.

Another thing I’m not worried about is Chesney’s ability to put together another very strong recruiting class.

Interested what you see when you watch the film. Do you think the coaches from 5 other FCS schools have it wrong? Technique? Instincts? Athleticism? Pad level?

Verbal commits mean more than smoke signals but another one today. So waiting on 3 tweets indicating verbal commit to HC.
Would bring number to 8.

#6 - QB Marco Siderman. 3* but only see an offer to FAU
Helms is announcing today. Could be HC.
Would leave one smoke signal to reconcile and make 8 verbals
