At $1500, if I was an assistant coach I would definitely go...and caddy. But seriously, the opportunity for the AD and coaches to strengthen the bond with those most able and willing to financially support the department is very positive. Regarding Pine, I think we have an upgrade with Marcus Blossom. Pine Hired the FB coach and extended the MH coach. 1-1. Blossom hired the MBB coach and extended the (Interim) WBB coach. 0-0 so far. Let's see how the results pan out for these four moves over the next couple of years. The WH coach has a division change, a league change and a scholarship change. I won't hold that program's performance against anyone for a while.
Regarding style and technique, I like MB better just from the press conference.

Small correction, Sullivan signed AM to the 1 yr contract in March

Good point. I guess Blossom will have to be judged on how well AM or her replacement does starting next season. Like you mentioned before, I hope the guards and wings are wearing out the twine this summer. Three point shooting is critical these days and will open up the inside for Manis, Swords and Ezemma.
Pedi led the next best 3-point shooter .406 to .349 but her minutes seemed to go down when AM became skipper. Then again the team seemed to play a little better so perhaps she gives something up defensively.

Pine also hired Carmody and hired + extended Bedard. With Chesney, that makes him 1-3. (And this doesn’t include his LAX coach who was suspended then fired)

I was blessed to attend this outing. Baltusrol is truly a unique golf club with 2 amazing courses and a practice range with Pro V1 balls. As for the financials of this event, there were 88 golfers. Three coaches played as did AD Marcus and one Development office professional. Assuming these are comps, that means 83 paying golfers @ $250 per head. There were also 10 holes i think with sponsors at $2,500 each. Also one must add the sponsors of the lunch and cocktails/dinner. Total proceeds were ~$80k per Cara. There were also some neat silent auction items--travels with the men's hoops team to Florida or San Diego. All in all, after subtracting T&E for those coaches and development office folks who came down from Worcester, I suspect the event netted over $80k for the CAF. The various coaches and student athletes were scattered around the course. It was a great pleasure to meet and chat on the course as well as later at the libation session. I truly enjoyed talking with our outstanding student-athletes. At the reception, there was a brief speech by the women's soccer captain followed by Marcus. He is a man of humility and humor, who views himself as a servant leader. He notes that salaries for HC coaches are near the bottom of the PL and Atlantic Hockey. He hopes to grow the annual giving to CAF to $2.5mm to remedy that situation. There were a few trustees and many prominent alums there. Items of interest: 1) Hoop schedules should be out in the next few days; 2) Coach Nelson spent the previous 9 days recruiting; 3) Coach Napoli is very happy with his incoming class. I love his enthusiasm for college golf and the HC program. Sounds like the event will move around the Northeast in future years--perhaps Fairfield/Westchester, Boston area and even Worcester CC. All in all, it was a great event and I got a nice sweater vest and 3 ProV1s with the HC logo. And I broke a 100! Finally, damage from the fire limited access to the clubhouse. The president of the club, an HC alum, said only the sprinkler system saved the place from going up like Notre Dame of Paris.

Thanks for your report. It sounds as though this was well done. I am glad that you had such a good day! I am also glad that fire was contained as well as it was.

Travel expense might not have been that high. Coach Annie Mac tweeted that she took a bus. Sounds like a great day. Thanks for supporting HC so generously.

I would expect that the “Bus” was a Fox Charter that was provide to HC staff and students that were participating in the event.

There were quite a number of student-athletes there. The most famous of those was Christa Moore, the PL champion pole vaulter. I met Jack Suroweic of the hockey team on the course and a few of others whose names escape me. During the libation session, i chatted with a junior on the women's ice hockey team--Victoria Young. She said there are some talented frosh coming in, so the win total should improve next season. Had a very pleasant chat with DJ Hart. He said Pat Benzan will be a grad assistant at one of the Big 12 schools--Texas A&M I think. Kelly Crowley of the women's soccer team gave a short and enthusiastic speech. It was certainly an impressive group of bright, articulate student-athletes who will represent The Cross well in the coming academic year. One more scheduling note--coach Dicenzo said the baseball team will be making Spring trips to South Carolina followed by a journey to California to play two state schools. That's all the news i can remember.
