Former AD Dick Regan was a big soccer guy and had our new stadium built (with the help of the Smith's!) about 13 years ago. One would have hoped that our M&W programs would have improved over time but that is simply not the case. It's been a grind for a very long time. This season's poll and team are attached - we're supposed to be fighting it out with Lafayette for the cellar - as with the women, that's 'why they play the games' so let's hope for some pleasant surprises. Will be interesting how new ADMB looks to improve our minor sports, if he indeed even cares more than his predecessors. www.patriotleague.org/news/2019/8/7/patriot-league-announces-mens-soccer-preseason-awards-8-8-19.aspx?path=msoc

Hopefully the facilities will lift them all up a bit. In lieu of that maybe concentrate on one male and one female sport at a time and see what can be done....the school's philosophy isn't going to do a 180 and drop programs any time soon

Big test tonight at home vs. BC (3-0 record) which has only allowed one goal this season. We're very inexperienced and have been playing six frosh regularly. Just maybe we can pull an upset, you never know

Down 2-1 in the 60th minute. We tied it up in the 56th minute but the tie was short-lived.

Some reason to be encouraged despite the 3-2 loss - PL is a pretty strong soccer league so we'll have to continue to improve. BC scored on 3 of their 4 shots on goal, so we were very close in this one.

Somehow lost 5-0 to Fordham today. You don’t see scores like that very often.

Really poor performance - Fordham was winless going into this match (0-3-1).

The team is 0-4-0 and they even posted an incorrect score on GOHOLYCROSS (it said 4-0 but it was 5-0). Does anyone pay attention?

I never saw that one originally, but that one was finally fixed and it now shows 5-0 as the score.

Last OOC match tonight vs. Northeastern before league play starts this weekend (at Navy) - we're 0-4 and have been outscored 3-13 through those games - I'd say it's an important game to 'right the ship' or things might spiral downward and no one wants to see that.

Probably time for a new coach.

our school has proven many times that changing coaches is not the solution when there are systemic deficiencies in the entire athletic program when developing a strategy to win games and championships. As long as that remains the same I think every perennial losing coach takes a 10 pct cut in salary. We've had enough of this constant losing and wasting lots of $

Lost 2-0 with zero shots on goal - outshot 10-3 after being outshot 23-3 vs Fordham - what can you say ?

I look at a website about soccer sometimes that has one or several agenda driven folks who absolutely hate Koolman. My guess is some disgruntled former player(s) or parents of same.

Don't know the mindset of the team right now but it has to be fragile - A-10 team URI at HC tonight we've been outscored 19-3 on the season so far - can we find some goal-scorers ?

Any idea why tonight’s game is an 8:05 start?

Any idea why tonight’s game is an 8:05 start? Normally would be at 8:00 sharp but, in light of our slow start to the season, we are beginning with a 5 minute prayer to Saint Jude before the game starts.

The Field Hockey game against Bryant started at 5:05 tonight on the Hart Turf Field is the reason for the later start time.
Field Hockey won tonight in overtime 2-1!

The Field Hockey game against Bryant started at 5:05 tonight on the Hart Turf Field is the reason for the later start time. Field Hockey won tonight in overtime 2-1! I’m surprised a soccer game couldn’t overlap with field hockey. Also, how long is a typical field hockey game? If soccer were to begin at 7, I’d think that field hockey would already be completed.
