Why do they have media day at the start of camp? Generally, we did this at the end of camp? Right?

It is a little earlier than usual but it doesn't matter. Maybe this week was the only time the regular 3 members of the HC media pool were all available.

Thought you might have had a point saying it was last Friday,so I just checked the Telegram photos and the captions say "Media Day, Thursday, August 8, 2019"! The weather here has been brutally hot and humid, just maybe it has affected the author of that piece! !

Thanks for checking. It is a bit disconcerting to see such simple facts not being sent out correctly. It make those doing it look needlessly sloppy ...and creates a question about other "facts" that they may post.

To perhaps clarify....
The ACC and the SEC hold conference media gatherings usually at glitzy hotels or domestic resorts. The ACC has each coach plus two Senior Captains attend for a full day of interviews, photos and television tapings.
The ACC and SEC both held these annual events 3-4 weeks ago.
Wake Forest also annually hosts a fan appreciation day following the last Fall scrimmage on a Saturday afternoon. Fans and kids get to run around the stadium field and get autographs from the players.

Great Article! "Oliver rushed for 721 yards and seven touchdowns as a junior at St. John’s, and fielded many college offers, including from Harvard and Princeton. His official visit to Holy Cross, though, sealed his decision. “It was kind of a no-brainer for me,” said Oliver, who loved the atmosphere and the people." Granted, he might have been prejudiced by his Dad, but he gets it! Go, Cross!
