Colgate should really get a lot out of the game versus D-3 Carleton, 7-18 last year. You've got the wrong Carleton. This is Canada's Carleton University, a very good program which is the defending Canadian national champs - a title they frequently win. In August, Carleton beat South Florida and Albany in exhibition games and took Valpo to OT. They are playing an official exhibition game in a couple weeks vs Syracuse in the Carrier Dome. The previous year they beat Ole Miss and Cincinnati, among others. That’s better. Thanks for setting me straight

Colgate and Dartmouth compromising on bus fuel by playing at Williams? lol Just guessing...but it might be a tri-scrimmage....done at the high school level....one team off while the other 2 play etc No. It's simply a Colgate vs Dartmouth scrimmage, with the teams meeting halfway. They did the same thing last year at the same place.

I'm pretty sure there are no roads from Hanover to Williamstown It must be a nice facility because there have to be a bunch of better geographical midpoints

I think the only better midpoint would be a school in Albany. Going to Colgate from Hanover via Williamstown is only 28 minutes longer than the most direct route to Colgate.
One big consideration, of course, if the availability of another team's gym for 3+ hours on a Saturday. Langel may have a relationship with Williams' Kevin App, who he coached against for a number of years in the PL, that might make the logistics easier. Also NESCAC rules mandate a much later start date to the season and possibly fewer practice hours, which might make for more gym availability.

Got a call from the HC ticket office from Connor Nigeo thanking me for getting season tickets. But I didn't answer because I was busy and he left a voicemail.

Got a call yesterday late afternoon from Austin Butler thanking me for being a season ticket holder and supporting the team! Had a nice conversation with him! Really nice of the team to reach out to their supporters. Looking forward to BB season but want to still enjoy the FB season! 🙂!

IMHO, those personal thank you calls from team members are a good PR step!

Speaking of who we are playing, the CAA coaches picked Hofstra and Northeastern to finish first and third in the conference so those shape up to be challenging games.

I fear all games will be challenging this tear.

I fear all games will be challenging this tear. I think you are right. That thought entered my mind as I was typing about Hofstra and Northeaston.

I fear all games will be challenging this tear. Was "tear" a. bit of a Freudian slip? I hope things are not that "sad" that we experience tears this year.

I'll create the customary "How many games will the Crusaders win?" poll and another one for "Most improved player" (that spurred some good discussion last year) within a week.

Wow. 14 events on NESN/NESNplus (probably picking up the Web Feed) and 3 on Charter TV3. Seems like that's a flip in ratio from the recent past.
Actually, not sure we've had as many as 3 on NESN/NESNplus in the last few years. Maybe 1 per year.

I see LeSann is the only one holding a ball. I wonder if that means he is the sole captain this year.
Last year there were no officially listed captains, but Floyd and Benzan met the officials and opposing captains before games. With a new coach, not much surprise that the one year hiatus in captaincy is over

Is this something that typically signifies more?

Is this something that typically signifies more? Sometimes it is just the guy in the middle. Lots of times captains are put in the front row middle and all the co-captains are holding balls. With the new website, the older team pictures have been removed to verify We'll probably have to wait and see who goes to mid-court pre-game. LeSann as the only senior seems a likely captain. With only one senior, they might take someone like Butler and have co-captains

LeSann is holding the ball so that 50 or 100 years from now, future generations will know that this was the basketball team rather than the football team. Putting the ball in the middle will ensure it is easily visible in the future.
A little more seriously, I think I will be surprised if CLS is named sole captain, if captain at all. I just have not gotten any indication of anything other than him being a senior would warrant that role. The closest I can get was I believe Carmody occasionally put him in a game because he was considered a stabilizing factor. And Carmody is gone.
