Two very ugly scores- men’s soccer lost at Navy 4-0 and for the 2nd game this season recorded ‘zero’ shots on goal. Meanwhile field hockey is looked really bad losing at Lafayette 8-0 ( that’s a ridiculous margin for a field hockey score)

My sense over the last few years has been that the only reason Field Hockey is competitive is because of the goalie (LaPlante). In 52 minutes yesterday, she made 14 saves and allowed 6 goals in a rare non-stellar appearance. Her backup allowed 2 goals in 8 minutes with 0 saves. The Lafayette backup had to make 1 save in 60 minutes to record the shutout.

What happened to the field hockey program?
When I was a freshman, they were one of the top teams at HC, losing to American in the Patriot League Championship. Basically non-competitive since. Womens lacrosse was a program to be proud of back then too with back-to-back NCAA appearances and an NCAA play-in game WIN.

The answer is blowing in the wind. Listening to the tree leaves rustle, I can't be sure but it sounds like "FADNP". Who else could it be? His fingerprints are or should be on every sport at HC. Maybe he just left his fingerprints on the Luth so he has no responsibility for the overall success rate of Holy Cross Varsity Teams, IDK.

Should be noted LaPlante wasn’t a field hockey recruit and walked on the team as they needed a backup goalie and she had played in high school. She was on the ice hockey team for at least a year or two before dropping ice hockey

Looks like she stopped playing ice hockey after her sophomore season.

Looks like she stopped playing ice hockey after her sophomore season. That had to be a very tough combination, with almost three months of ice hockey season (including preseason practice) overlapping with field hockey. I see that she played a number of ice hockey games as a soph, but only one before January 19th.
