My biggest concern is whether or not our big guys can stay out of foul trouble . . . Agreed. At the practice a couple weeks ago, Verbeek didn't move well down low, especially on defense - expect him to be foul prone. Faw cut his fouls per 40 last year from 8.5 to 5.9, but Niego's more than doubled to 5.7.

Oh yes, forgot about that! In addition to BL, Mike Vicens (of course) was there...RP Jr...Billy Doran.... Ernie Floyd..I think Lorn Davis..maybe some others. Joining the daily end of practice team circle was pretty cool.

It was a real pleasure to see Coach Nelson working with his players in the vid. Go Cross Go. LoveHC At one point in practice before the scrimmage, the team was running "skeletons" (no defense)..Coach Nelson stopped the drill, took the ball and played the point guard..He wanted to show the pace he wanted the players to move at! He ran it and told the players,"This is what I want to see!" I've never seen a college coach do that before! HS coach maybe..Nelson is a very hands on coach, and is very detailed oriented...I believe this will pay dividends as the season moves on!

Kenny Atkinson of the Nets does the exact same thing. Players say they love it.

Is TJ Power JD Power’s son ? He is a big kid, 6'7" or so, who plays hoops in the Worcester area at St. John's HS in Shrewsbury, MA. NERR has him among New England's top 25 sophomores. One of his teammates is listed as well. Will be interesting to see if they remain at St. John's or opt to move onto one of the New England Prep Schools. NERR includes hs and prep players in its rankings.

Sounds like Power is on his way to becoming a high major prospect assuming he fills out his frame. I see it didn't take long for the other St. John's kid to make the jump to the prep ranks as Owen Moreira is repeating his freshmen year at Proctor Academy. A third kid from Central Mass is among the top sophs in New England according to NERR. He is 6'7" Alex Karaban of New Hampton who played at Algonquin Regional in Northborough last year.
