Wow the offensive coordinator must have gotten a lot smarter over the last two weeks. When you throw the ball DOWN the field, not ACROSS the field, you tend to get smarter.

Great win. Brown converted 4 of 7 4th downs and we still won by 2 scores. This team definitely moving in right direction.
Heck of a weekend for HC sports in Providence.

The NESN announcers repeatedly (and correctly) said that Connor has been maturing at QB. They also said that Chesney told them that "he's only played 4 games" (not sure that is 100% accurate unless someone doesn't want to count Navy and Syracuse).
I have been as critical as anyone about his looking only at his primary receiver and telegraphing his passes. While it may happened, I don't recall him doing any pump-fakes and I think he was still throwing to his primary receiver. The huge (or is it spelled "YUGE"?) difference was our o-line gave him time. NESN guys very complimentary about our experienced guys up front and they even hinted the Pats could use Mountain at TE. The toss up the middle to Spenser Gilliam for a breakaway TD was a thing of beauty. We've heard how fast he is and this was a great demonstration of it. One Brown defender had a hand on him but not enough and once he got a step, he was gone. Mountain had another log gainer again.
The offense got untracked today. Can they sustain it against Harvard?
Finally, the NESN guys repeatedly mentioned the speed of our defenders, especially the DBs and our young, quick and big LBs.
Great game!

SBU v UNH later today. Rumor has it SBU is a pretty fast team. Good luck at their place. FWIW Villanova over JMU with 1 minute left in the 3rd QTR. (Last week SBU lost to JMU in OT) Bucknell still up 26-14 over Colgate. 1 minute left in the game. just eyewitnessed jmu beating Villanova as the cats fell apart in the last 20 minutes:. fumble, two ints and a chip shot fg miss. Also gave up a 70 yard td run late on a simple play up the middle

Apologize if this has been posted Attendance—3026 Sad Yeah...I can't bitch about this as I am as much to blame as anyone. I do plan on going to the next 2 games at Fitton. It is sad though. I posted a pic here fairly recently from the '72 game at Brown...the entire visiting side was very nearly filled. Different time/era. Topic for a different day perhaps but I maintain the Navy and Syracuse games forged our metal so to speak. Were helpful in the last 2 games etc

I hope we'll get to see a lot of video highlights--I think they've been a little sparse season-to-date.

Apologize if this has been posted Attendance—3026 Sad Attendance at JMU game = 25,000. A lot of $0 pay students part of that count, but a fabulous atmosphere. Apathy abound in Providence, as usual.

From what I saw on TV, looked like a very decent Holy Cross contingent just based on the purple in the stands and I know of at least 3 1970 Classmates who were there.
I'm not sure what people expected. It is a lower tier Ivy team who just played in-state rival URI and lost and, come on, it's the Ivy League and it was cloudy. Those students are worse than Holy Cross students when it comes to watching their school's football team. Just too sophisticated to attend a game and actually cheer.
All that said, let's hope that next Saturday, there will be a much larger crowd at Fitton Field vs. Harvard.

Coach No Ray-Bans today seem to have pretty good game plan. O was obviously impressive and D played bettah than the 31 looks imo...Perry never seemed too comfortable out there.

Amazing what happens when you don’t call zone read runs right into the back of the offensive line on 1st and 2nd down every series!
Offense looked much better today, but it’s difficult to say how big of a test this Brown team is given that they’ve now allowed 30+ points every game this year, and that we scored 17 points in the first half on three drives that started on the Brown 43, 34, and 23 yard line. A 3-1 Harvard team that beat Brown 42-7 will be a true test next week. Go Cross Go!

The best QB and player on the field yesterday was #10 in white. Extended drives both with his feet and his arm. 4TD passes, no picks, and led the team to 500+ yards of Total Offense.
Brown's QB was outstanding and is certainly a great athlete but our Crusader QB was better and deserves MAJOR credit (along with PL POW honors.)
I welcome giving it to him . . .
CONGRATULATIONS Connor Degenhardt!!
Additionally, how about the speed of our linebackers. How often did #43 Jacob Dobbs and #29 Liam Anderson tackle the Brown RBs as they tried to turn the corner to no avail. No substitute for speed. Speaking of speed, Ayir Asante and Spencer Gilliam clearly were much faster than the Brown DBs. Additionally, #4 Corey Stefanik was also all over the field leading the team in tackles for the second week in a row. #55 Kevin Bucceroni (I believe) with a second blocked field goal having done the same last week v Bucknell. Great team win.
Moving right along . . .
BEAT HARVARD!!
LET'S WIN!!

Good speed...check young team (energetic and enthusiastic)...check lookin' good...check beat Harvard...that will be a tall order, BUT we are at home, so...check
When I watch them on the field and on the sideline, I believe that this is a team of which future recruits will want to be a part.
