That's sophomore guard DaSonte Bowen who is "shoot first" to say the least. He has offers from Iowa, Georgetown, UMass, and Rutgers according to 247Sports. He seems to prefer taking the off-balance 25 foot fadeaway jumper over feeding the ball inside to 6-10 teammates in the paint or to a dead-eye 6-7 wing.....
WA also has 5-10 Quest Harris so maybe I better check more carefully before declaring that it's Bowen
EDIT: Bowen is listed as a point guard on 247sports but it looks like Harris plays that position now

By Craig Holt / Correspondent Posted Dec 15, 2019 at 9:09 PM Updated Dec 15, 2019 at 9:09 PM WORCESTER — Basketball fans who savor scoring, highlighted by long three-pointers and transition dunks, would have been in their element watching Sunday’s final of the Thomas Blackburn Invitational Tournament between South Kent and Worcester Academy. In a frenetic, back-and-forth contest that challenged the most dedicated scorekeeper, the Hilltoppers hung tough, getting clutch free throws from senior captain Quest Harris and junior Jhamyl Fricas in the final 15 seconds to help seal the deal en route to a 99-96 victory at Worcester Academy. The Hilltoppers were led by junior guard Dasonte Bowen, who netted a game-high 37 points, 22 coming in the second half. Bowen, a fleet-footed sharpshooter who was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player, hit four 3-pointers and converted two three-point plays. Harris finished with 20 points while senior forward Judson Martindale pumped in 18. Both players were named to the All-Tournament team. South Kent got outstanding games from senior guard Wrenn Robinson and senior guard Josh Reaves. Robinson totaled 35 points, 22 coming in the second half. Reaves finished with 29 points. The duo combined for 40 of South Kent’s 50 second-half points. South Kent canned 18 3-pointers, 11 in the first half. “It was a shooting exhibition by them and that team is dangerous, and Bill (coach Barton) does a really good job with them,” Worcester Academy coach Jamie Sullivan said. “His kids never give up and they never give in.” “Winning the Blackburn Tournament is always a special thing,” Sullivan said. “We’re 5-2 now and we’re playing well. A key is our senior leadership. Our senior captains (Harris, Michael Rabinovich and Martindale) have been outstanding. These guys keep us steady. The older guys guide the younger guys, and that’s a good thing.” The Hilltoppers went ahead for good, 92-89, when Bowen converted a three-point play (drive, free throw) with 2:42 to go in the game. South Kent refused to wilt, however. Harris hit a free throw to give the hosts a 97-94 lead with 15 seconds to go. However, he missed his second free throw and South Kent got the defensive board. Reaves got the ball and bolted up-court, canning a drive to help his team close to 97-96 with seven seconds to go. South Kent then fouled Fricas, who calmly drained two free throws to account for the final margin. The free throws were the only ones that Fricas, a guard, shot all game. Play was back-and-forth in the first half with each team enjoying short-lived, single-digit leads. The score was tied, 46-46, at the intermission. “For our guys to not put their heads down and keep fighting, and also continue to do the things that we know they’re capable of, shows how resilient they are,” Sullivan said. ” “It was a good, exciting game but that’s a lot of points,” Barton said. “Worcester Academy deserves credit, they have a lot of good players. We’ll go back to work tomorrow. We gave up 99 points, so we’ve got plenty to work on.” —Contact Craig Holt at sports@telegram.com. www.telegram.com/news/20191215/boys-basketball-bowen-leads-way-as-worcester-academy-edges-south-kent-for-blackburn-title

Defense was purely optional. Anyone see a box score on the game(s). I am curious about how many shots players attempted.

The biggest big, Ogundele, Iowa commit, has missed the last two games. Which probably explains Mike Rabinovich' uptick in scoring. When the Hilltoppers' starting five is on the floor, Mike R appears to be their 5th option on the offensive end. Also as noted previously, their shooting guard is good for 20 or so shots per game.

Maybe he has tendonitis in his shooting arm and is giving it some rest.

It's just nice to know that Mike R. CAN score, when given the chance. I'm still more interested in the other things he can bring to the table at HC.

He is rebounding effectively, esp on the defensive end. He hedges on the high screen and roll very well, even drawing an offensive foul. his passing is strong. His scoring is mostly at the mid and low posts, as well as the three. He hits his free throws(for Ky)
