Home field advantage is typically 3 points, right? I think that's the standard point value used by Vegas, others etc....yes.

So if we're two TD's better at Fitton we should win by maybe 10 in PA

The elephant in the room is that in the HC "game notes" that often give all kinds of arcane facts and factoids, there is no mention of Lehigh being led by the long time Holy Cross coach, Tom Gilmore.(I just read the link from the PA paper that clearly brings that out) No surprise to anyone on Crossports that I was always a huge Tom Gilmore supporter (as was my wife) and with 20/20 hindsight, it was probably time for him to part company with Holy Cross. I have no inside knowledge of exactly how he was terminated but know it came suddenly and the alleged "text firing" is not something I know first hand. I would have preferred he had been given until the end of the season and maybe if he had won out, his job would have been saved - maybe not. The Yale loss was an abomination (I was there) as was the Fordham game at Yankee Stadium (I was there) and the botched loss to Dartmouth (I was there) . . . . . . uh-oh, I spot a trend! It seemed clear to me that the team, especially the offensive line, was AWOL at the Yale Bowl and I repeat what I posted after that game - it was like our guys never got off the bus. What I do know was that TG had difficulty recruiting past our Admissions Dept. (same as most PL schools) and he was looking forward to having the first class facilities that was eventually the Luth which he thought would help recruiting and, indeed, there was an uptick in the quality of players coming to HC his last couple of years on just the promise of improved facilities and Bob Chesney is getting the full benefit from since it isn't a planned piece of paper but a completed facility. I also know that TG sometimes felt he missed his opportunity to move on to bigger and better things after winning the PL championship but he loved Holy Cross too much to want to leave. He internalized the Holy Cross mission and bled purple and, I suspect, still does except when his team plays Holy Cross as it should be. I would not be shocked when his kids grow up if they end up going to Holy Cross. Say what you will about his coaching ability/inability, he was always a gentleman with class. And still is. That said: BEAT LEHIGH!

I have a hard time believing anyone's termination at HC (or anywhere civilized) would occur over text message.

I have a hard time believing anyone's termination at HC (or anywhere civilized) would occur over text message. story has it that when former yale football coach carmen cozzo's team lost an early season game to u/conn he received the following, " THERE IS A TRAIN LEAVING NEW HAVEN TONIGHT, BE UNDER IT"

ouch! I vaguely recall hearing this story before. Talk about ungrateful fans. Come on! I don't know what year this was but Yale used to beat UConn like a drum "back in the day". Glad to see an Eli fan still engaged with his /her team whatever the year was. You wouldn't have that reaction today, I expect, regardless of the opponent. And that's not a good thing.

rgs, no inside info but no obvious injuries during the game against Colgate so hopefully no injuries during intervening practices.
A couple of games ago left guard Brett Boddy looked to have incurred an injury and went out of the game but came back to play against Colgate looking none the worse for wear.
Brings up the point (knock on wood ) that in past seasons we seemed to be decimated by injuries.
I admit that I questioned our strength and conditioning coach Jeff Oliver and many here came strongly to his defense. However, Jeff no longer works directly with the football team (to avoid working directly with Peter, perhaps?). May be pure coincidence but our guys seem to have more strength and stamina in latter stages of the game than past years. How much is due to improved facilities, new S&C coach or just plain better athletes I don’t know.
Hopefully I haven’t jinxed anything!😊

Joe Lang (no.23) left the Colgate game in the 3rd qtr with (what looked like) a knee injury and did not return. Will be interesting to see if he plays tmro - he’s a good one

Lehigh will be without Jaylen Floyd, one of their starting defensive backs and return man, for the first half on Saturday. Why? Ejected for targeting in the second half against Georgetown, which means he misses the first half of the next game.
