RIT is the hottest team in the league at this time coming off a weekend sweep of Air Force in Colorado Springs - they are 5-1 overall with other wins over Colgate, Bowling Green and Merrimack - they always draw well in their on campus facility (capacity over 3000). These will be two tough games.

I haven't grown to like the new AHA point-scoring system but "yay for us" on the shootout victory and two points.

Yeah, except that's not what happened. Was there an OT goal called back?
Shootout win is only worth 2 pts, vs. 3 for an OT win.

To delve even further to the complicated scoring system, a GWG during the 5-on-5 OT period is worth three points (with loser getting none I think). A GWG during the 3-on-3 second OT period OR a shootout win = 2 pts for winner, 1pt for loser. Correct me if I am wrong.

Why the war on ties? I have no problem with a hard-fought tie in hockey after a brief OT 4-on-4 or even 3-on-3. Never liked shootouts in the NHL or college. But I get it -- theyre fun, engage the casual fan and sell tickets.
Same with football. I hate the 6OT 68-66 games in college. And I hate the new "2 point do or die" play after 3OT (see W&M-Elon this Sat). Its a bastardization of the game, a ginmick. Go the NFL route, play actual football in an extra period and if no one scores in 15 min, call it a tie.
