The Pards blew a 17 point 1st quarter lead, but came back late today to beat Fordham. (38-34) Their record is now (2-7 and 2-1 in the Patriot League (beating Bucknell and Fordham / losing to Georgetown 10-14)
Lafayette out ruched Fordham 199 yds to 98 yds. Fordham held a slight edge in passing 315 yards (23 of 37) to Lafayette's 309 (17 of 33 with 2 interceptions)
Massey favors HC by 15 points (28-13) and gives the Crusaders an 83% chance for the win.

If we beat Lafayette, we’ll be at least two games up on every other PL team with two to play (at least 1 on Lehigh in the standings but with the tiebreaker in hand). Big game.

A win at home Saturday has beyond huge implications. If we take care of business against Lafayette, we actually afford ourselves the luxury of a "mulligan" against EITHER Georgetown or Fordham without risking the auto-bid. Fordham tends to play well against us on Homecoming so it will be nice to be carrying that extra rope after next week.

Have to go back to 1992 to locate the last time we won seven straight games against PL competition.

Thanks for that reminder, I had lost track of the HC win streak in the PL. (How often do we get to say that?)

Massey has changed the predicted point spread to 14 after the weekend's games. Now it is 24-10 and HC is given an 86%. chance for the win.
PS: Massey had the spread at 7 points for Lehigh...not bad predicting.

Lafayette's QB is a freshman who has completed 172 passes out of 277 attempts with only 2 interceptions. He will present a challenge. I want to see if we can have a better pass rush this week. We may need it, since few QBs complete passes while lying on the ground. His QB rating is 131.65 (according to the Lafayette board).

Long range forecast for Worcester for Saturday...sunny with high of 33. Calling for possibility of some measurable snow in Central Mass Thursday night. Championship-season weather is here.

Huge game, SOV brings up a good point. This is quite a stretch. Although the Patriot League is as bad as ever still glad we can take advantage. Will be there in full force for tailgate Saturday rain/shine/snow!

Someone can double check my math...
Holy Cross win over Lafayette.... Colgate win over Fordham..... and a Bucknell win over Lehigh clinches a share of the PL title for HC with two to play.
Amazing where this team is right now.
(If this has been posted elsewhere I apologize)

Nice set of ideal results, but - for a start - I. believe Lehigh will trounce Bucknell big time.

Amazing where this team is right now. (If this has been posted elsewhere I apologize) Correct These results would: a) eliminate Fordham -- who would have 3 losses. b) eliminate Lehigh -- they would have 2 losses and could still tie HC but not beat us for the auto-bid c) eliminate Lafayette -- they would have 2 losses and could still tie HC but not beat us for the auto-bid

Can they each get a loss if they are playing each other? How about EITHER Lehigh or Lafayette will get another league loss?

I wonder if a temperature with a high of 39 degrees. Will keep some fans from the game. But the team deserves the support as they are going for the PL Championship, which they haven't won since 2009. Lets not forget seven PL Wins in a row. Get to the game. I don't want excuses. Haha
