Some services like RPI don't count games D-I games against D-II or D-III opponents. True, the old RPI and its successor, the NET, don't include games with D2/D3 teams. But once the real season begins, almost every D1 team counts games with D2/D3 teams as real games in their W-L record - even if the D2/D3 team doesn't count it. Lehigh is playing two games in six days ($9 admission price) with teams that view their games as practice games. Cairn and then Misericordia. Lehigh will count both as wins, but their opponents won't count them as losses. I wonder how many LU fans know they were playing opponents who weren't counting them as real games. A number of D2/D3 teams do count the games in the W-L record, but there is no consistent approach. In that case one has to wonder why we didn't count the game with Assumption. Unlike UMass Boston, it's at least D2. Nelson could already have his first win.

They would have had to drop one of the D1 OOC opponents and played Assumption at some point after the season began. You do have UMass-Boston as a counting game however. At least as a counting game for HC. UMass-Boston is treating it as an exhibition game that doesn't count in their W-L record.

Wow, not a great performance for the Bison. Yes, you don't win many games with 24 turnovers. Game was helter-skelter with a lot of contact but not a lot of fouls called. Canisius won on a shot with 0.8 seconds left. The only good news for Bucknell is that Avi Toomer is back. Had 20 points (on 10 shots) in 22 minutes.

Not a lot of fouls called or a few bad bounces is a frequent cry for a team that is still working on or developing an identity. Bucknell has been exempt from that for years, which I think leads to a competitive conference this year and the team that wins the Conference will have 5-6 loses. many will say the league is weak this year, I would say it is filled with youthful exuberance and the future years are bright.

I believe that Colgate will have fewer than 5-6 losses. While I defer to you on most ALL basketball evaluations, and yes it is possible they could go 18-0 given talent differences, this league has a way of exposing weaknesses, especially on the road. I also think they could go 14-4/13-5 as many of the coaches will find a way to steal a game.

Interesting. KenPom projects a 20-11 record for Colgate.
Ivanauskas is not off to a good start, e,g, 42-97 on threes (.433) last season versus 3-16 (.188) to start this season. He had sub-optimal games against Top 100 Clemson and Syracuse. When you look back you see that he has had trouble against top teams (I know everyone plays better against #350 than against #1, but I think it goes beyond that). I suspect he'll have considerable success against PL teams.

Fairfield at Loyola tonight, tied at 30 at the half - the league could really use a win from the Greyhounds

Watching and it is so early in the game/season you hate to suggest Loyola hasn’t improved but based on tonight they have regressed
Let’s see how the rest of the game flows

Ran a 1-2-2 half court trap, mostly in ot that gave Fairfield major issues
Kostecka was able to dominate with only a few three pointers

Well it gets much easier for Colgate tomorrow night at #22 Auburn our football team played only two high majors. this will be three for gate and they still have to play at Cincinnati

League so far has losing record to MACC, America East, and NEC not good. Should mention that 2 of 3 losses to America East are to Vermont. Looks like Loyola started their other touted Spanish frosh Dike last night had 18-8. Kostecka had 31 shot 1-7 from behind the arc 10-11 inside, he is so much more athletic than he looks with blocks, steals and dunks.

Kostecka is outstanding at both ends of the court--he may come to be known as "a poor man's Judson Martindale" in Patriot League circles.

Yes, saying that having a losing record with MAAC, AE and NEC teams at this juncture in the season is "not good" means as little as saying that having a winning record against combined A10 and AAC teams is "good". With so few data points, it tends to come down which of ours have played which of theirs. We'll have to see what the end of December tells us.
