Think Hargis is one of the top three on the team He's not a good defender, but shooting 60% from the field so far this season (55% from three), and 87% from the line.

How's Yeutter look? Four assists, no TOs in 13m.

In 10 minutes, Wade had 2 turnovers, 0 points, 0 rebounds, 0 assists. Those are not good numbers to get more pt.

Hofstra 31-35 on free throws versus Holy Cross 7-12. Outside of that the Crusaders outscored Hofstra

The big men on this team make me cringe. I'd like to see Nelson give PG duties to Reilly and move Lowder off ball.

Didn’t watch, but seems like another defense optional game.
Six of seven opponents have gone for 82+ points.

Nelson said Lowder has a hip injury. He had a bad one in AAU play a couple years ago.

I'll be back for HC/Mercer tomorrow morning (11:30). Mercer has some wins, but this could be a good game - even if Lowder is sidelined. Hopefully his is a minor injury and he will be back soon.
0-7 could the next grande be #1?
Massey makes Mercer a 5 point favorite (77-72) with HC having a 35% chance for the win. Mercer has lost to St John's (by 30), GA Southern and St Bonaventure (by 5). They have wins over Columbia Intl, Kennesaw, IL Chicago and Florida Gulf Coast (by 16).

The 3rd game I'v watched start to finish. IMHO our most glaring weakness is on the inside - on offense and defense. We are far below an average D-1 team in this regard. (There is nobody within a million miles of JF on this team - -and with him we were less than a .500 team.) Mathematically that tells me my 10-win prediction might have been way off.
(I'm not saying our perimeter guys are average either but that inside presence is jump-off-the-screen weak.)

The big men on this team make me cringe. I'd like to see Nelson give PG duties to Reilly and move Lowder off ball. It's going to take a couple years to re-balance this roster. Way too many guards and wings, no physical presence inside.
Having watched Lowder at the defensive end several times now, he seems to have serious problems reacting laterally - suspect this may be the residual effect of the hip injury he had in high school which caused him to be carried off the court on a stretcher.
Can't see playing Reilly and Lowder together, but pretty clear now why Nelson's first recruiting move (puzzling at the time) was to get another PG.

Understandable that Nelson wouldn't make that specific line-up change. Not sure how our situation improves down low given the 2020 Recruiting class. A lot resting on Mike R's shoulders if we are to improve in that department. Hopefully, the current crop develop between now and then

At the game again today. Showed some flashes, but overall too many TOs and the foul shooting disparity took them out of the game. Going to be a long year regardless, but if the coach thinks he can have these guys play man defense against teams with better athletes, it’s going to be excruciating! They finally switched to zone midway through the second half, and were fairly successful. On the bright side, Pridgon is a decent player; and Faw looks to have recovered from his injuries. One more day in the high 70s, and hope the Mrs takes care of the shoveling!
