my point about not being ideal has to do with classes missed from Monday through Wednesday, and Friday Fair enough. I think classes were canceled yesterday. Not sure about today.

Classes were cancelled on Monday...couple of classmates have kids at HC, caught that on facebook. Not sure about today...most of the schools in Mass were cancelled today (Tues.) due to the snow, not sure about HC.
Is this our first meeting in hoop between these 2 fine institutions? Can't remember playing them before...I know we played them in football about 15 years ago.
Have they evah been very good in hoop? I don't remember them being good in the WCC like San Francisco, Pepperdine, LMU etc were back in the day.

SD knocked of UConn in the NCAA first round a few years back. One of my all time favorite days hating the Huskies.

Then it must hurt like heck to know some of your tax dollars are supporting them . . . . . and ole Jim Calhoun not willing to give back "one thin dime."

From the Game Notes for Saturday's contest:
HOLY CROSS IN CALIFORNIA: The Crusaders will be playing in the state of California for just the 11th time in school history. Holy Cross has a 4-6 record in its previous appearances in the Golden State, with the last game being a 73-63 victory at San Francisco on Dec. 18, 2012. The Crusaders stand 2-4 in road games in Florida (beating San Francisco twice, while falling to Santa Clara twice and Loyola Marymount and San Francisco once each), with a 2-2 mark in neutral site games (defeating California in Oakland and Butler in Santa Clara, while losing to Loyola (Md.) in Oakland and Rice in San Francisco).
But what about games in California??

Yesterday was a mandatory off day - so no practice, just study hall. Practicing this aft - probably on sh*tloads of Red Bull.

Can we assume Drew Lowder won't be making the trip? Seems to me it would make more sense for him to avoid another long plane trip.
I still think of the plane trip to California that ruined Alex Vander Bahn's back - he was never the same player after that trip.

It certainly mdid not do his back any good. You are right about his play never being quite the same after that trip.

Travel at any level during the winter seasons is problematic at best... Planes trains and buses! Only the big guys who fork out the money for private charters..It makes for a lot of good memories!! I spent an afternoon and evening in Springfield during college, we arrived, but had nobody to play!!! (Both AD's messed up contracts) So back on the bus, but wait, there is no bus out there!! The driver went to dinner with it.....We did get a good meal out of the trip......

Did you email them to correct the error? Sports Inflammation Dept? Is this Mad Magazine or something? Gentlemen! My Help Wanted ad was a tongue-in-cheek ribbing of the SID’s office, poking fun at yet another gaffe in their publications, i.e., noting the hoop team’s past record in FLORIDA as the team is about to play a game in CALIFORNIA.

Did you email them to correct the error? Sports Inflammation Dept? Is this Mad Magazine or something? Additionally, we did not beat Cal, we lost to them in 1995...although in our current info dept's defense, our history shows us as 1-0 all time against Cal...but I remember a loss in 1995 and found 12/28/95 loss to Cal 75-64...also did not look to be a neutral site game.

hc1998 I think we lost the Cal game on the court but IIRC Cal later forfeited the game because of an NCAA violation by its coach (Todd Bozeman?). Does any other poster remember the circumstances?
