Syracuse only 7 puts over Colgate? I would love to take SU to cover. What am i missing? Point spreads on FBS/FCS games tend to be conservative, especially in this very early part of the year.

Confused....I'm not a gambler -
Lehigh is favored by 3.5 over Monmouth and in the 60-70 % range while Marist is favored by 4 over Bucknell and in the 50-60% range ? Shouldn't that be reversed ? And the 'by 7' games look strange...why is San Diego not in the 60-70% range ?

Syracuse only 7 puts over Colgate? I would love to take SU to cover. What am i missing? Bassett always has a number of bizarre point spreads early in the year. You won't see their spreads in Vegas however. Colgate is reportedly closer to a 27 point underdog in the real odds.

The probability of accuracy can be off by being too low or too high a spread. Remember, this is strictly about probability of the spread being accurate - not looking to balance out bets between the teams (as with the Vegas spreads).

Syracuse only 7 puts over Colgate? I would love to take SU to cover. What am i missing? Syracuse has a new coach, learning a new system - much is unknown!

Didn't want to start a new thread but UMass is tied 7-7 with #25 Florida in the 2nd quarter.

UMass playing Florida very tough, only down 10-7 deep in the 3rd.
In the 2nd quarter, Florida kicked a FG to go up 10-7 but a penalty gave them a 4th and 1 and decided to give up the points and go for the first down/TD. UMass stopped them, went down the field and stalled. Florida eventually came back and scored another FG after having a similar situation and decided not to go for the first and take the FG.
UMass will still need a break to pull this one off but they are within striking distance of an upset.
