It is. Went to the same high school (Bishop Feehan, Attleboro, MA) as recent Holy Cross WBB stars, Amy Lepley (2013) and Lauren Manis (current).

Oftring was great in high school. Grew up in the area, so always followed the local sports scene. Given his size / relationship, I wonder if Carmody ever gave him a look.

Didn't Heinsohn make NBA ROY in '56? So Leenig goes back at least to '55? I could swear Leening was at HC when I started in '59.

Buster Sheary coached Heinsohn until his senior year, when Leenig took over.
Leenig coached through 60-61,the year HC lost in OT to Providence in the NIT semis.
Oftring's son, also named Frank, played for Holy Name, and URI (not much, but he played).

Didn't Heinsohn make NBA ROY in '56? Yes, beating out Bill Russell Cooz was MVP 56-57 season. USF won it all in 1956 and then Russell played in the 1956 Olympics, which is why he was late reporting to the NBA. Heinsohn was a soph on the NIT champs in 1954.
