Please tell me we’ll be talking about this game 4 years from now as we’re getting ready for a game in the ncaa’s. Are those supposed to be rose colored glasses?

Absolutely brutal. Bill Carmody absolutely destroyed the culture of this program and could not possibly have done a worse job with the roster. Nelson is left trying to pick up the pieces, but it’s not easy to make chicken salad out of the chicken s**** that was left on his doorstep. Say what you want about BC as a coach, but his team wouldn't have had 21 turnovers against this team

Saying that Nathan Pine left the HC athletic dept in conplete shambles is a huge disrespect to shambles.

UMass Boston is not ranked within the Top 25 for D3 from the most recent poll. There are an additional 21 teams "receiving votes". UMass Boston is not one of those teams either. We're losing to below-average D3 teams. Fixed it. UMass-Boston was picked pre-season to finish 7th in the nine-team Little East

Willard lost to Williams....we haven't truly been a marquee D1 hoop program since probably the early 80s...PL is really not that much better than good D3 teams in 2019.

3 missed shoits/taps in the paint at the end of regulation...seems familiar (Fairfield?).2 OT losses that could have/should have been wins. Pridgen looked good at times, but also had 6 turnovers - some big - in the paint under the HC basket. Still learning. I imagine we will hear about this one forever.
Canisius could be brutal. Massey makes the Griffins an 8 point favorite (68-76) with a 77% chance for the win. How many of our walking wounded/ill may be back by the 14th?

A little dismayed to see an old Kearney coaching tactic by Nelson: huddle up with assistants for 30 seconds before engaging the players during a timeout. And it’s producing the same results.

My guess is that a handful of guys gathered from across campus could have had a similar result tonight at a much lower price point.

Dear Mr. Blossom - enclosed please find all of my unused tickets for the balance of this season. Let me know when you plan to have a division 1 coach and program. Happy to pay Marquette ticket prices when you have a program. No idea what was or is going on behind the scenes. Frankly, don’t want to know. Something rotten is going on to result in this outcome tonight. Waddya mean by that, Brah? Would love the juicy details, Brah

BBC agree the roster stinks but you can't lose to a D-3 team Nelson needs to share in the blame for this. And I thought Northeastern was rock bottom. How do you think Mercer feels tonight.

Outscored 52-33 to end the game. I just cannot comprehend how this can happen The team is just not very good. Simple as that......Nothing more.

There is no talent on this team. Just like every other team (minus football) on the hill. The men's returning leading scorer transferred to sit on the bench in Champaign, IL. No one should expect anything this season. This is a five, six year rebuild minimum.

The fact that the program is at this point isn’t simple at all and frankly is inexcusable. I think that it is fair to question the path we are on with coaches and players.

Lose to 3-5 Keene State on Saturday, beat Holy Cross on Tuesday.
Wow.
I'm sure Nelson thought he had a big project on his hands, but I doubt he knew the roster would be this bad.

I realize the cupboard is bare, but very disturbing to see the worst loss in program history AND its most embarrassing one on Nelson’s 10-game watch so far.

We're still recruiting 2020s . . .

Good D 2 and 3 teams can play with low level D 1 teams on most nights - I’m not saying UMass-B is a good D 3 team, but we’re definitely a very low major program at this time As I stated elsewhere, I’m focusing on football recruiting now

Butler 3-10, all from in close except one shot. 3 turnovers; wonder how many of the 3 were blocked shots as he's Patrick Benzan II.
Niego 1-6 no rebounds against a bunch of short guys.
Hargis 2-6, 5 rebounds but just as many turnovers.
Pridgen 32 points, but 7 missed foul shots and 6 turnovers.
Wade's shot attempts look like prayers.
State of the locker room? I got a feeling the password for the transfer portal is written above the entrance to that room in very large letters. Any further departures would be addition by subtraction for the most part.

gks, if Nelson needs 5 or 6 years to re-build, fire him now. You get 100% +/- turnover in 4 years. All his guys, all his style of play.
Even HC70 didn't think Milan Brown needed 5-6 years.
This loss is on Carmody's players and Nelson's game plan. And, mostly, it's on the players. No excuses. No jet lag. No injuries/illnesses. This was a weak and short D-3 team. Seriously, Nichols would have beaten us by 10-15 points and not need overtime to do it.
I am sure each and every one of our players are good, quality individuals. But, this team stinks.
I believe I predicted a 10-11 win season. Revising that to 3-4 only because I still believe they will improve and other opponents will have off nights too.

Might this game be karma for the arrogant and self-righteous members of this board who think Holy Cross is superior to everyone? Congrats to Umass Boston great for those young men to get a chance and capitalize on their chance. So many of you on here that just live in the past and I realize it's an older board but goodness maybe this will help you see to love your team but also respect your opponents.

The problem with HC athletics (minus Chesney who is an exception) is institutional. Doesn't matter who the coach is. It is not a coincidence that EVERY TEAM (football and women's hoops out of this) stink. It's going to take a long time to fix. Much harder in basketball than football.
