I'd guess Manis. Voters love to reward big career milestones, like Sa'eed Nelson achieved, and they are certainly aware of what she has achieved. Do not jinx her needs 24

Manis by a very small margin, but would not be shocked if it is Mack

I agree it's between Mack and Manis - I looked at the stats and here's a comparison: On a team basis, you have to favor Mack as the Bison is going for their 3rd NCAA bid (the other year an NIT) in her 4 years
This season: Mack: sr. 6'3" forward - 15.4 ppg / 52% fg / 43% 3 pt / 83% ft / 7.3 rpg / 22 blocks Manis: sr. 6'1" forward - 18.4 ppg / 45% fg / 45% 3 pt / 77% ft / 11.3 rpg / 26 blocks
I have to give it to Mack - I did not realize she has been such an efficient shooter - those stats and the team's success give her the edge.

I give it to Manis 3 more ppg 4 more rpg Higher 3 pt % More blocks 2000 (hopefully) FG% is Mack’s only win here should not penalize her for her team’s play

I have to go with Manis, even if only on her stats. To give it to Mack (also a good candidate) based on team records goes against the individual honor the award represents.

There are four candidates: Manis, Mack, Thompson, and Kucowski. One thing working against Manis is how much HC has underachieved each year she has been there. While the coaches get most of the blame for that, it likely will affect some voters. In the past 15 years, there has never been a POY whose team finished worse than 2nd in the standings. One factor that should be considered in the stats is that the Bison play at a very slow pace - 3rd slowest in the nation - so everyone's counting stats are worse. Mack, btw, has one more year of eligibility but - like Sestina - she will not be allowed to return to use it.

But one of the major criteria the coaches have used over the award's history is how the player's team performed. It is not described as an individual honor by the league.

Manis. At two inches shorter she out rebounds and out blocks Mack, two effort categories. She also is the all time leading rebounder in PL history. Think Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron.

In PL games, Mack leads in 2-point pct and in 3-point pct. If the coaches decide the award goes to whoever has the best counting stats, Manis will win it. If they follow precedent and give it to the top player on the top team (or possibly the 2nd best team), then Mack will get it.
