After playing poorly against a weak Canisius team last weekend we get another crack at a 2nd tier AHA team in Mercyhurst at home this weekend. The Lakers are 4-10-1 overall and 2-6-1 in the league. This might be our last chance to turn the season around in front of crowds that promise to be 'friends and family' size - hope the guys can find a way - we're due !

Good win. Mercyhurst’s 1st game back from break, so HC will see a better team tomorrow night. It would be nice to put together 2 good games in a row.

When’s the last time we scored at least 10 goals in a weekend?

When’s the last time we scored at least 10 goals in a weekend? 10/12 and 10/13/18. Beat Canisius 4-2 and then lost 7-6 the next night.

Looking ahead at the remaining schedule:
- The team has 14 games left.
- 12 of the 14 are league games (the two others are against Quinnipiac and ASU).
- 12 of the 14 will be played within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- 9 of the 14 will be played at home.
- None of the games are against the top two teams in the league (Sacred Heart and Army).
Lastly, pasted below is what Dan Rubin of USCHO wrote about the Crusaders a few days ago:
The Crusaders finished the 2019 portion of their schedule with three wins – two against Sacred Heart and one against Providence. This is very much the same core team that played well against Merrimack and tied Northeastern, and I still think there’s a deep run in the Atlantic Hockey playoffs hidden within that roster. But it just seems like something happens in these games where the key goal goes the other way.
Holy Cross led Air Force 2-1 after one period but lost when the Falcons lit up the third period. A 2-2 game against Canisius turned into a 5-2 defeat. A 2-1 lead against Bentley resulted in a 3-2 loss after a shorthanded goal. Within those games are some really good performances, and I stand by my reasoning that this team will make some noise in the second half.
