OK, we currently have 7 pages of posts about URI's new offensive coordinator.
I have no direct interest in Rhode Island. What I want to know is who will be taking the oc post at Holy Cross now and for the the coming season? If promoting from within, who will be added to the staff (and in what position)? If someone from outside, any word on candidates?
What role will this hire have in regard to our recruiting? Specifically, how will this impact our incoming excellent crop of receiver recruits? Any input is appreciated.

This is probably available on anther thread--but who was Coach Chesney's OC at high scoring Assumption? Coach brought some Assumption guys with him but not the OC as I understand it. Where is that man now and might he be a candidate?

Not sure of any names. My guess is a number of interviews might be conducted in Nashville on Sunday-Tuesday. My guess is Chesney wants someone to come in soon to help with the next 4 weeks in the recruiting cycle, get to know the roster, and offensive coaches and prepare for Spring ball.
I was reading somewhere that the Eastern Kentucky staff was let go after a 7-5 season in the Ohio Valley Conference. That OC - Adam Austin is out there. Looks like they ran the ball a bunch last year. Averaged 30 pts a game in conference. Looks like Ches and Tyler Loftus follow him on Twitter.

Would Bill Kavanaugh, the head coach at Bentley, be interested?

to paraphrase gen. sherman:
if offered the oc job i will not accept. if hired i will not serve.

to paraphrase gen. sherman: if offered the oc job i will not accept. if hired i will not serve. And Morris Udall, when asked about challenging Jimmy Carter for the Democratic presidential nomination said, “If nominated, I will run - for the Mexican border. If elected, I will fight extradition.”

One of the best comments on elections came when the great Wm F. Buckley ran for NYC mayor and was surprised that, early on, he attracted a double digit percentage of the vote in polls. When asked what he would do if he won Mr. Buckley responded : "Demand a recount".

Would Bill Kavanaugh, the head coach at Bentley, be interested? My guess is no. Haven't talked to him since the Summah, but as a Bentley alumnus and head coach there, I don't think the OC position at HC would be that big a draw for him

One of the primary reasons I think this job opening could be of interest is that if Chesney does have the inside track to move onto a bigger program in the next few seasons (assuming HC continues the upward trend), an OC may way want to try and hitch his wagon to Chesney's.

It would be nice to have a winning head coach move up with a well trained understudy coordinator ready to move to head coach without skipping a beat.

Kavanaugh already has done this though...with Bill O"Brien....he turned down going to the Texans with him from Penn St to stay local for family reasons at Bentley.
I could see him coming to HC from Bentley perhaps if and when Ray-Bans moves on.

Only if a coach were to read Crossports. Otherwise, normal gauged skin would suffice.
Same advice to players’ parents: don’t read Crossports. Met Ryan Wade’s dad and he assured me he does NOT read Crossports. His stock with me went way up!😂

A wise move on the part of any parent or coach.

Just looked at the Bentley at Assumption box score from October. Attendance 2500. That's pretty good for D-2. Chesney left the program in good shape.
To me Endicott would be low D-3 and moving from head coach to OC in the PL would be a step up, but Bentley is a quality school in a solid D-2 league and I don't know if it would be a professional or financial move up to OC in the PL.

With HC’s recent success and extremely likely increased future success under Coach Chesney, the OC job has to be much more appealing than it was 2 or 4 years ago. We should have a boatload if applicants for the job

The OC hire should be keeping in mind as an Associate Head Coach. We need a succession plan in place.
