Yesterday was a nice win over Morgan State but that was almost unanimously expected. We won big but had a very slow start. Something like 4 lead changes in the first half before we gathered enough momentum to put the game away. Maybe to be expected in the first game.
Next week we are on the road again but a little closer drive for the re-opening of Wildcat Stadium under the lights. They lost on the west coast but some of that might be the 3,000 mile trip. Historically, we have not fared well making the cross-continent trip and lost a couple of games we were expected to win, so we shouldn't feel too comfortable that they lost their first game.
We played them tough a few years back with Dom as our QB and I expect this will be another tight game.
I'll be going up for the game. Any other posters going to attend?

Actually the game at UNH which was a back and forth affair had Ryan Taggart at QB. The next time we played UNH was under the lights at Fitton and the Wildcats handled the Cross fairly easily. I believe Kevin Watson played that game.
Let's Win!!

Geez, I was at both games td128, and while I fully understand my blocking out the night game at Fitton, I could have sworn it was a Dom-led team at Wildcat Stadium. I trust your much younger memory.
I think the reason I thought it was Dom was because I guess my expectations going into the game were low and was thinking had we had Dom at QB, we might have had a better chance of winning, since we played Villanova, eventual NCAA champs, tough and UNH wasn't as good. That we played them so closely was filed in the wrong section of my brain thinking we could not have done that w/o Dom.
Yep, looked it up. we lost 39-32 up there and lost 38-17 at Fitton the following year.

I recall seeing you at the game in Durham which was in 2011 I believe. The visitors stands ran all of twenty rows and I believe we were near each other right in or near the top row. Ryan had a great game. We tied the game with about 3 minutes left and then UNH QB Kevin Decker (CAA player of the year that year) hit a receiver on a bomb to go ahead. A painful loss but a great game.
Next year not so much.

No American Sports Network in my neck of the woods, but it appears it may be a streaming service also...can anyone confirm?

Ahh, you are bringing back memories, Larry. But, then again, I see you at a lot of football games both home and away (Brown once or twice, I think). When someone asks me a question about something I am vague about, I ask them to "prime the pump" (give me a hint) and then everything comes back. I do recall you and I up on top rows and a close game that I thought we had a good chance of winning. While we may not win Saturday, I think the score will be close and more like the last time we were there than the night game at Fitton. If we have Brendan back and Jake, I think our offense will do fine but we do need to have a balanced attack. I am hoping our defense is starting to gel. Time will tell. Lou, the game is also on NESN if you get that. I have my DVR primed and ready to go and maybe even see myself on TV (whopee! ). But they will probably be smart and set the cameras up over the visitor side looking at the packed home stands.

Slightly more optimistic after seeing UNH get shut out by SDSU, but a cross country road trip is tough for anyone. I believe they got smoked by San Jose last year before going on to make the playoffs.
Unfortunately, I have an engagement party to attend Saturday afternoon in New York so I will have to resort to streaming the second half at home.

76 clams for reserved visitor's seating. Is Springsteen singing the national anthem?
Will be there.

I guess the cost of living is just very high in Durham, NH. I got senior general admission and paid a fraction of that. Of course, I will be staying overnight and hotel will cost a lot more.

Getting back to the original point of this thread, it appears that only Joe and myself will be there in person. Though he didn't say it, I would be surprised if td128 wasn't also at the game. I know the game is not just around the corner but this is a BIG game and surprised so few posters will be seeing it in person.
