Solidly ranked at #47 in the latest NERR 2020 rankings.
Looks like Nelson & RJ are assembling some nice options for however many scholarships we have available.

Interesting move, and if speculating one could be an indication the staff believes He is a great defender and will help right away; need a 2nd pure PG Humphrey is more of a combo than a pure point OR Copeland and Reilly are not returning OR Back up plan in case RJ gets recruited away by a NC program

He does list himself as a PG in his Twitter bio FWIW. Any help for RJ next year would be an improvement from our current situation.

With his scoring numbers against strong comp, at 6’2” he should be able to play the two as well as the point

Rodgers is listed at 6’2” or 6’3” depending on the elongater. Like the size for a combo guard.

From December. Like the “walking bucket” description.
Jay Rodgers, Winchendon – He arrived in New England with a D1 offer already to his name and incredibly hasn’t added any other despite scoring the ball in high volume at virtually every step. It’s undoubtedly only a matter of time though if he keeps up what he’s doing. The lefty has been nothing short of a walking bucket. He’s scoring in different ways, at multiple levels, and showing off a strong body in the process.

I wonder what our staff is seeing that others aren’t. I like what I am reading about him, but curious as to why such a good scoring guard hasn’t received more offers.

Holy Cross "University". Swell... ]Is Merrimack now considered by parents a better choice than Holy Cross? The same question can be posed about Bryant, Sacred Heart and Quinnipiac? Have they now bettered us in athletics and applications? We only get 7000 apps. What does the aforementioned schools get in apps? Are we now a lowly D2 school in theory...

I believe that Pickerington, Ohio HS is the alma mater of Caris Levert who came to Michigan as a recruit with little fanfare and blossomed into a very good college player and early departee to the NBA. Hopefully, Jay could follow the same path at HC (without the early departure😊).

glad to see nelson and staff are addressing the point guard position!
no matter how good johnson appears to be, i was/am extremely concerned about having just one point guard on next year's roster - especially a freshman with limited/no other confirmed scholarship offers - and rogers would certainly quell that concern.
two freshman point guards is still obviously not ideal, but it's a heck of a lot better than the alternative of just one. it also appears that if both johnson and rogers turn out to be great contributors, that rogers has the offensive ability to play the 2 alongside johnson and has the size to defend shooting guards. strange that he has so few offers while getting the exposure ata great program like winchendon, but we can hope that other coaches are missing something for some reason.
hopeful that he'll sign!
