With all of the talk of transfers out, maybe we can start focusing on some options to transfer in. Here’s one to start the discussion:

Do "from 2 to 1" transfers sit out a year? I know "from 1 to 2 or 3" do not.

Recruiting by phone, text etc is allowed He is native of Australia and did a year of prep school after graduating from Abington High in PA. 6’3” so he sounds like more of a shooting guard based on height. Has 3 years of eligibility.

With all of the talk of transfers out, maybe we can start focusing on some options to transfer in. Here’s one to start the discussion: I wonder if we would have interest in a 6’10” big man from Charlotte, NC named Justyn Hamilton who is leaving Temple with two years of eligibility. He has made the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll at Temple his first two years as an Owl which means he has had at least a 3.0 GPA. The Charlotte connection jumped out at me.

Are you sure he has two years eligibility ? He played in 11 games as a freshman in addition to the past two seasons Stats are unimpressive

If that is the case, that probably wouldn’t work at HC as I believe you have to be a student at least 3 years to earn an HC degree.

When HC went coed my sophomore year I believe some women transferred in as juniors and attended HC for only two years before graduating.

Jim McCaffrey went only two Maybe that rule has been changed. Also, when I looked at his stats at Temple, I saw two years but didn’t realize that was written heading into the 2019-20 season. Just curious how many of you would take a kid who has to sit out a year and play one year before graduating, assuming he is allowed to do that. It would place him in the class of ‘22 which I believe is an empty class right now except for Hart.

How did McC manage to only go to HC two years...didn't he sit out a year...or did he sit out while attending St. Michael's or somewhere else (or nowhere)?
Anyway, he started playing in the fall of 1984....that's 36 years ago...rules may have changed since then.
Yes, they had a few co-eds come in as juniors in the fall of 1972...not many., but they wanted a few older girls there for sure.

D2 to D1 do not sit a year I don't know what the rule was when McC was playing, but for a number of years the general rule has been that a player transferring from D2 to D1 has to sit a year (assuming they aren't transferring as a graduate student).
