Is Worcester now considered "Suburban" as it says in the blurb for the college? That was a bit of a shock.

Did we move up a spot or 2? I seem to recall us at #34 previously.

Should the military academies be considered "liberal arts?" Didn't they used to be engineering?

Is Worcester now considered "Suburban" as it says in the blurb for the college? That was a bit of a shock. They also say that Bucknell is a "convenient" three hours from NYC. Having made the trip there from Long Island numerous times when my son attended Bucknell, I can attest that there's nothing convenient about it. As far as Worcester being suburban, the only excuse for saying that is that the development along Route 9 is now unbroken between Shrewsbury and the Boston suburbs of Framingham-Natick. Back in the day, when I drove regularly from HC to Newton College of the Sacred Heart, there was a definite break between those two areas. In fact, what used to be the 9-20 Motel sat all by itself by the side of the road. Now, directly to the west, instead of a wooded area, there's a shopping center.

During orientation (1959) we were all bused to Newt Coll of Sacred Heart for a mixer.

That reference to the "legendary" 9-20 brought back many memories. Thanks!

uuhh, pretty sure that going back 2-3 decades ago, we were like 21 or 22 or 23. I'd like to think that perhaps there has been a significant number of new liberal arts colleges but I know that's not true. I think we need to juice up our athletic success to see us climb in the rankings!!

We were 23 in 1992, my frosh year. Cheers. I was going to guess we hovered between 23 and 25 while I was there. My graduation has obviously devalued the once-prestigious degree.
