As was said last year, Kyle was planning to stay at school and to the best of my knowledge started taking classes today. His scholarship status might have something to do with his health. If he wasn't healthy enough to play the last two years, it'a not a huge stretch to think his health could have something to do with his departure from the team I do not know where Connor wound up, however I do not see his name on a list of current HC students. Does this presume that you did see Kyle’s name on that list ? Yes

Glad Kyle's finishing up, don't see where anyone in his circumstance would benefit from transferring and finishing up elsewhere.
I guess if some basketball opportunity arose (D2 or 3); he'd have a year or two of eligibility left as a grad student.

Kyle was available pre season last year and reportedly looking good. I don't think he's been in an actual game since his freshman year.
I assume he would have to apply for a red shirt for his soph or junior years to get a second extra year of eligibility. I don't know what Kyle's issue is, but based on the fact that he decided to walk away from college hoops 6 months before practice started, I'm guessing his medical stuff isn't going away on its own with time. Barring some major fix to what made him sit for two years, I do not anticipate Kyle returning to college basketball as a grad student. Zero inside knowledge, just my interpretation of public information

Zero inside knowledge, just my interpretation of public information The education is the most important thing. He's not going to make a dime playing basketball. And, if he wants to coach the game, he's done enough as a player to more than merit a chance to do that (there's plenty of high school players or lower that do a hell of a job coaching).

Whatever his health issues were, he felt they were personal enough to keep to himself. He won't be returning to the HC basketball team and maybe Nelson wouldn't be interested anyway even if he were and fit to play.
Let's let Kyle lead his own life as he sees fit. No point speculating further.

Copeland appeared in 27 G (270 minutes) as a sophomore and 7 G (140 minutes) as a junior. He played 100 minutes as a freshman.

I thought he played some last year, don't recall sophomore year so I checked the HC website with everyone's stats. Apparently his stats are not being kept up to date. They only list one year Going back to that webpage, Austin Butler hasn't played since freshmen year either, My bad for incomplete legwork before posting. ~Either way, I'd be surprised if he played college ball anywhere as a grad student

That's very strange because recently the Career Statistics Database at Goholycross.com was up to date

Maybe my computer doesn't like the updates.
I go to
goholycross.com sports mens basketball more history Career Statistics Database (1952-present)
I find no info since 2018. Butler has not played a game since freshman year. Hargis and Verbeek do not exist

Stick with basketball-ref, guys. ...that's not perfect, either. Ronnie Perry's senior year was missing two games (D2 opponents). Noticed there were 24 games listed, and thought "gee, didn't they always play at least 26?". HC guide had them.

I'm guilty of being a bit obsessed with Niego's plans - it's the end of Sep and it just amazes me how he hasn't landed anywhere - I checked 'verbal commits' today and he is still listed without a new school. All i can think of is he made a big mistake leaving HC where he could have played his sr year, graduated, and then be an imme eligible player somewhere as a grad transfer in 21-22.

Perhaps he was told he wouldn’t play and would have a better experience elsewhere? Nothing good or bad about the decision making of the staff would surprise me at this point.
While I applaud them for what on paper appears to be a solid 2020 recruiting class, I reserve judgement on their actions, real or suggested, and leave it to others on the board and time to determine if these actions meet the Holy Cross tradition and values
2020 is a crazy year all the way around, and all I want to do is watch games and see the team win
Hang in there one and all

I understand the wonderful family legacy at Lewis but the decision just baffles me.
I do wish him great success there

‘After talking with multiple D.1 programs ...’ - this did not work out how he planned it I would suggest - is Lewis in the same conference as Grand Valley, where Blake Verbeek is playing ?

Is Lewis in the same conference as Grand Valley, where Blake Verbeek is playing ? No. Lewis plays in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC). Grand Valley competes in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). Both Verbeek and Niego will be playing at their fathers' alma maters.
Connor's brother, Harrison, started as a walk-on at Indiana, then transferred to Hillsdale, which is in the GLIAC. Which is not the conference his brother will be playing in.
Glad we cleared all that up.
