Harvard-- This is as close to a sure thing as we'll see all season. Harvard has outscored GTown 79-3 in the two games they have played and I see more of the same this weekend.
Colgate- Colgate has won the last 7 in this series and 17 of the last 19. This appears to be a very good Colgate team
Fordham-- Looking at Monmouth I have to wonder how the team beat Lehigh in the opener. Monmouth has had trouble in the Red Zone and has had a hard time stopping the run. So, Chase Edmonds could have a big day. Monmouth has outscored opponents 24-20 in the first half but has been outscored 47-83 in the second half.
Lehigh--Yale appears to be having a down season, crushed by Colgate then then losing 13-27 to Cornell after having won 5 of prior 6 versus Cornell. Yale has also won 5 of last 6 versus Lehigh but I think that should end. Hate picking a road team but I'll go with the Mountain Hawks who beat Penn by 21 in Philly and then beat Princeton by 14 in Bethlehem.
Holy Cross- Lafayette was my original choice but I think the Crusaders can win this. HC has had a porous defense, especially vulnerable to the run, but Lafayette (traditionally a passing team?) has no ground game at all. Even taking away the "yards lost rushing", which is mostly QB sacks, Lafayette averages 2.8 yards an attempt and 95 yards a game. We lament our lack of a ground game but, again eliminating the "yards lost", HC averages 4.6 yards per carry and 160 yards per game. So, if Laf goes for 150 yards on the ground we'll know we are in real trouble for the balance of the season. On the other hand, Laf has had some success in the air, e.g. 8 passing touchdowns versus 2 for its opponents (1 versus 9 on the ground). Laf's opponents have been penalized heavily this season but HC does no commit a lot of penalties (12 versus 36 for our opponents). . We need to establish a ground game and also do something about differential vs opponents in passing: we average a sub-optimal 6.1 yards per passing attempt versus a very strong 8.9 yards for our opponents. This game will tell us a lot about the season and I am looking for us to implement some changes to our schemes
