sader1970, and the Marist game started at noon last Friday, the first of five consecutive days on which there supposedly was no work being done.
The Florida sun must be blinding this time of year.

My big complaint is that for the Marist game on 12/23, most of the spaces in front of the Hart (oops, side of the Luth!) were taken up by construction workers' cars. But I soon got over it as I remembered we were in the Christmas season and the hard hats were working hard to get the facility ready on time and on budget and that it wouldn't hurt to walk a little further and it was a much shorter walk than to the Worcester Auditorium from Mt. St. James. You bring back some good (if chilly) memories.

Well, the hard hats are mostly yellow and would have reflected the sun easily. Many appeared to be walking to their cars for lunch as I got there for the game. I didn't listen closely to their conversations . . . . couldn't tell if they spoke English or Polish. As for whether union workers or not, I have not yet been able to tell if someone works for a union or not just by looking at them.

Rob, please don't bring religion into the discussion!

I truly hate my spell check (and "o" key). Why would "chilly" become "city" Be well!

sader1970- Doesn't matter if they are unionized or not. MA is a prevailing wage state.

What does Malachi Alexander have to do with it? Oh, wait, I get it.
But while we are on the subject, is it possible, that you might have been mistaken about seeing, or not seeing, construction workers on a 5 day holiday?

sader1970- Doesn't matter if they are unionized or not. MA is a prevailing wage state. Why would prevailing wage matter? This is not a public project. (Unless the financing is through some state agency that requires payment of the prevailing wage??) Oh, and I never understood why people want to mock private sector union construction workers. They tend to be well trained and highly skilled.

sader1970- Of course it's possible I might have been mistaken. That would always be the case when I was viewing on the Internet and not continuously. Nonetheless, I did not see any work being done on those two days. Why would I make it up.

Sarasota, you may not have made it up but your post was a flat statement with no modifications like "I haven't seen any workers in the last 5 days."
In the spirit of the season, I'll refrain from further comments except the basketball prediction thread.

I think I have this conundrum--with Sota saying no work was being done and sader1970 saying he had seen work being performed--- figured out: I think it must be just like one of those situations we saw on Mission Impossible in the 1960"s where technical wizard Barney Collier (played by Greg Morris) attached a slide or static shot of no work being performed to the webcam. Thus, sader1970 was on site and saw work being done while Sarasota viewed over the internet and saw the picture affixed to the webcam. Make sense? Can anyone who was on campus verify if they saw Greg Morris skulking about early on Friday?

sader1970- "I haven't seen any workers in the last 5 days" is implied in my statement that no work was done. So it need not be stated by me. Please brush up on your reading comprehension. Thanks.

That sounds like a "Mission Impossible."
