His track record as a coach speaks for itself; as does his track record as person who often embarrasses himself (probably not in this case as any coach can get t'd up and it's over and done with, no biggie). Fair enough?

Classic Crossports thread Here we sit, invisible, living and dying for a team that, as has been suggested on the Board, isn't playing this weekend because "one the teams didn't feel like it." Yet, let's start a thread where we feel holy and pure (still invisible) and mock a coach and team ranked 5th in the country. We will eliminate the coronavirus. I'm not so sure about the Brooksvirus. I don't believe anyone said or suggested that was why they were not playing. Why "quotation marks?" I guess fictitious quotes are indeed a part of CROSSPORTS. McCaffrey is being mocked (as you put it) because he has in the past acted as a jackass on more than one occasion, as has his wife. Many of those times were directed toward Holy Cross. I believe that most feel he has built programs at more than one school, but many do not like the way he behaves in doing it. You can ask for a thread where "we" (who would that be?) feel "holy and pure" but I doubt that will ever happen. Do you really like the way the coach in question behaves? Why? ...and, what the heck is a "Brooksvirus?"

From time to time we discuss Rick Pitino, whom many posters revile. I see no reason why we shouldn't follow the ludicrous exploits of the loathsome Fran McCaffery for a little comic relief during the season. I only wish we had more reports on his unhinged wife

As entertaining as that might be...I would rather hear that she found a way to calm down and be less of a distraction.

from the Colgate games where? thread, rgs
"Because they were only tentative and one or both schools decided they didn't feel like playing"
Hope the quotes don't offend.

I admire a guy like Mark Few. I'm sure he could have left for a high profile league years ago....instead, he made his program high profile.

Since no one said that I have no ideas why you did. Each team had reasons to not play the games and "feelings" were not on that list. Here is the rest of my post: McCaffrey is being mocked (as you put it) because he has in the past acted as a jackass on more than one occasion, as has his wife. from the Colgate games where? thread, rgs "Because they were only tentative and one or both schools decided they didn't feel like playing" Hope the quotes don't offend. That was me. The games had always been tentative. Neither school needed the games and had completed their no longer required minimum and also filled their division slate. The way it was explained, because of the tentative nature of the games, both schools had the option of cancelling the games with no penalty. The fact that the games no longer appear on the schedule suggests to me that one or both schools elected to exercise that option. I stand by that statement. Many reasonable people here would argue that it is in the basketball's team best interest to prepare the play-offs for a few days rather than travel to Hamilton for the weekend, have a day of prep and then road trip potentially to Maryland. Fine. Making a decision in the best interest of the program comes under the heading of not feeling like playing I have had the privilege of seeing Mr and Mrs McCaffery's childish behavior in person. I have no problem making jokes about him even if HC basketball thinks it's in the best interest of the program to not head into the play-offs on a 9 games in 19 days run. On a related note, some people on this board used to call out Coach Gibbons about his game behavior. (The McCaffery's made Coach Gibbons look comatose.) We not only mock other people to feel holy. When it's appropriate we mock ourselves too.

JM & MR's teammate from Worcester Academy, Josh Ogundele, 6-10 285, is on the Iowa team and has played 13 minutes in 5 games. He's grabbed 5 offensive rebounds in the 13 minutes

I wonder how McCaffrey would react to such a transfer if it ever came about?

Flashing back to the 2005 PL women's final. Sounds like that fellow poster is a bad person who likes to bust chops

Iowa's Center Luka Garza is a strong candidate for Player of the Year so Ogundele may be learning a lot in practice while he is blocked from getting much playing time. Still 13 minutes suggests there may be other factors

Still 13 minutes suggests there may be other factors I saw Ogundele play live last year. I was a little surprised he was heading to the B1G. But, he’s really big and you can’t teach that. Lots of big guys are far from finished products at 18-19 years old.

That season WA opponents had similar size players... I saw 2 or 3 of those games... this season WA has a soph big that a lot of schools are looking at.
