Feel bad for St Lawrence. Team earned it and deserves to be in the tournament. But it's a crazy year.

Atlantic Hockey Exploring Expansion CHN Staff Report
In an interview conducted during the broadcast of the Atlantic Hockey Championship game — which American International won on Saturday night over Canisius — Atlantic Hockey commissioner Bob DeGregorio said that the league will discuss expansion for a potential 12th team during the league’s spring meetings with athletic directors.
"It's on the agenda," he said.
DeGregorio was asked specifically about Long Island University, which had a scheduling agreement with Atlantic Hockey, and Alabama-Huntsville expressing interest in the conference. Additionally, during the interview, he said that the league could consider expanding up to 14 teams.
"We have a third school we're also talking with," he said. "We'll see what progress will be made. The directors have to look at a lot of things. We know that we want to get back to 12 teams, but what's the right number? Is it 12? Is it 13? Or is it 14? How big do we want to be? Do we want to stay at 12? They have a lot to talk about in regards to expansion. Nothing has been pre-determined.
"I told the executive committee on our call last month that I sent a letter to two of the schools and told them that expansion would be on our agenda for the spring. We need to think about issues of size, and where we are going, and who we are looking for. We need to update our protocols for what we use for membership, and I am in the process of doing that now for the executive committee. Hopefully, everything will be reviewed favorably and the discussions will determine the direction we go in."
It was believed last year that the Naval Academy was also pursuing adding a program, but that stalled when the pandemic hit.

Hope Navy joins the Atlantic. Then the “Commander in Chief’s Ice Cup” can be awarded with the three academies. The McMullen Hockey Arena at the Brigade Sports Complex, seats 1,000, with room for expansion up to 3,000 spectators.

The Assumption Greyhounds were 15-9-4 this year. I imagine they are happy playing in the NE-10, but if they joined the AHA they would be an easy drive for HC, Bentley, AIC and Sacred Heart.
