I just reviewed the highlights of the HC vs Colgate football game from September 23rd. Apparently a new baseball scoreboard is not in place, just the four support post where the old scoreboard was located in center field. Any insights regarding the replacement?

No, but they should buy a big video board for two additional reasons than with any other sport. First, the Worcester Bravehearts can sell ads during the summer and HC can share in the revenue and perhaps have some of the advertisers that the Braveheart marketing team digs up also advertise on HC football, basketball, hockey, etc. video boards. Secondly, If HC ever wants to show an outdoor movie for students or let students gather to watch an away playoff football game or something, the chairback seats in the baseball stands are more comfortable than in the Fitton football stands and pointed more directly at the video board.

OK for #1, I guess.
But don’t we have a 3800 seat arena with video boards that can be used to watch the game communally, inside, in December? They are far more likely to get a crowd there rather than the baseball field in December.

How many more years you think the Bravehearts are going to last???

Hard to say, but the Bravehearts have an advantage over the Tornadoes in that they don't pay the players. I ASSUME that the Bravehearts have the old Tornado asset of free use of the field. Their fixed costs are pretty low. I would guess that break even isn't that high a threshold. As long as they're not losing money, no reason they can't keep going. I don't know if the rest of the league has favorable rent arrangements at their home field

These stadiums would all be empty without these teams. I just don't know the breakeven number when the top average attendance is 2,485 a night and Worcester who is second is at 1,985. Team Total Games played Avg Vermont Lake Monsters - 72,067 29 2,485 Worcester Bravehearts - 53,605 27 1,985 New Britain Bees - 47,680 28 1,703 Norwich Sea Unicorns - 52,739 32 1,648 Nashua Silver Knights - 48,716 30 1,624 Westfield Starfires - 21,345 24 889 Brockton Rox - 21,405 27 793 Pittsfield Suns - 14,702 25 588

The Tornadoes had a deal with HC. The Tornadoes did a major upgrade to Fitton in exchange for X years of rent free use of the field. When the Tornadoes when bankrupt, that free usage would have been an asset liquidated by the court to pay off creditors. ASSUMING the Bravehearts bought that asset on the cheap, they have free use of the field. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure Holman Stadium is a municipal stadium. Nashua might be letting the Silver Knights use it for free, but more likely the Knights have to pay some form of rent. Probably most of the teams pay some sort of rent. Going back to the original question of how long would the Bravehearts be around, as long as that free rent agreement is in play, the Bravehearts probably have an easier time covering exxpenses than the other teams. In my opinion, if the Bravehearts don't last it will be a function of the whole league folding leaving no one for them to play
